Why the terrorist are there in more numbers in India
by raghu reddy on Jul 28, 2008 01:52 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

1.there is no proper intilligence(corridination of intelligence agencies, police, security forcess at all levels both at center and state) to avoid the terrist attacks.
2. delay in the proscusion leeds to escape.
3. no strict laws even if a person is cought, and all the persons who are going out of the country should be undertaken in writting the if he be needed for any investigation or if he convected he should come back.
4. all this is because of the durty politics, the perosns who will be caught will be freed with some or the other influence(politically or with money power).
5. the persons who are convicted should be hanged in public so that others should feel how horrible it is(No lifeterm).
6. the person who is cought in the Parliment attack case should be hanged with out delay, the delay is mainly to get political advantage by the durty, cheep congress at the center.

we have enough intelligence, i bet our police network would have all leads, but we can neither arrest nor punish them because the political parties will be termed "Communal" if they do that. Rather the police do encounters for local rowdies who are forced to rowdism because of lack of education and poverty.

The terrorism should not be connected to religions. Treat it as an offence against the NATION. Let there be strict laws to handle the terrorists.

Our rules for policing are framed in accordance with the time of its enactment. The Law depends on the parameters of the offence and offenders. As time pass on and the parameters are changing we must go for amendments to the existing laws. If need be we go for enacting another law. Even a child knows that the parameters of offence and offenders are changed in the last couple of years. One government passed a law according to the parameters prevailed at the time. Next government withdraw the law on some pretext. May be on political reasons. The offender strikes back. Then crying foul. What a political crap? Sanctioning some payments to the family of deceased etc is of no matter after the loss of precious life. Do something to protect the life and property of the citizens for which people elected them. And not to SELL our sovereignty. Initiate measures to stop these carnage. OR do they use this opportunity to process all papers 'to surrender' under the cover of terrorism?

May be the government is trying to include a clause in the 123 agreement empowering a foreign country to handle the terrorism here and protect our life and property. :) Then we can blame that country for the terrorism here:)

There is no announcements regarding any type of new legal approach from the government. Congress men, rise up!! Question your leaders.

The act of social policing is of utmist importance; but we rarely do it..

These terrorists, who kill people people of all religions in blasts at soft target places, inclduing hospitals, are not perverse lot. However, their preparation, meeting, plan and all acts go on openly in all large cities. They come in and rent in houses, run meetings, exchange materials - all in open day light and all that we ordinary citizes can easily detect. But we still decide to given a closed eye to what terror plans go on in the making in our neighbourhood.

But some alert people are still there, who, when see someone suspisicous leaving abomb on a cycle in Ahmedabad, alert police immediately and save lives of another 50 people.

How many of us Blog writers, do the same ? DO we check or raise alarm on a suspicious bag seen in train, railways platform ? NO! we need to do something, Act nOw !

TADA and not just POTA
by Diler Dogra on Jul 28, 2008 01:34 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

In the past 4 years and after many terrorist attacks Indian police has not been able to solve any terrorist case, not even the deadly 7/11 Mumbai blasts. Police and intelligence organizations are expressing helplessness and frustration. The reason Police say is that we do not have a proper anti-terror law and cannot interrogate or hold terror suspects. They say that fight against terror cannot be fought by Policae alone, Media, Polity and public have to do their part as well. Police was able to arrest some terror suspects but could not solve the case or break in deeper into these organizations. This is leading to unfortunate situation where Terrorists getting bolder and deadlier after each terror act. Mumbai serial blasts case in 1992 was solved because we had TADA that time which helped not just in apprehending the terrorists but also in discouraging any such future event. As a proof no terror act happened after 1992 till the repeal of TADA by congress under pressure of Muslim, pseudo-secular and Human (read muslim) rights organizations. These organizations claim anti-terror laws are against Muslims. Our country does not have an anti-terror law even though there is a UN resolution which mandates each country to set up anti-terrorism laws and even Europe and America have specialized anti-terror laws. Not a single terrorist in J&K has been convicted. In fact PDP-Congress coalition released most of the terrorists and gave them government jobs and monetary compensation c

by NAGAPATTINAM NANDAN on Jul 28, 2008 01:33 PM  Permalink

INDIAN GOVT SPEND MORE THAN 1000 Crores PER ANNUM IN R&D ESTABLISHED BY THEM UNDER DRDO, ICAR, DEPT of SPACE , DEPT. of ATOMIC ENERGY , CSIR LABS and IITS and TECHNICAL UNIVERSITIES. A COMMON MAN IS IN NO WAY BENEFITED BY THIS R&D SPEND. BUT THE BRAINS of TERRORISTS IS USED WITH EASILY AVAILABLE MATERIAL , WHICH ARE NOT BANNED TO CREATE HAVOC. OUR R&D CANNOT PRODUCE ANY COUNTER FOR THE SAME. NANDAN

Population and Corruption root of India's problems
by Punepro on Jul 28, 2008 01:26 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

If any government has guts, they should work out and implement a comprehensive population policy for the country. We are competing in larger numbers for same set of resources and those who do not get access to the resources are bound be a frustrated lot. Such people can be exploited by terrorists to participate in anti-national activities. Similarly, because of the corruption in legislature, executive and probably even judiciary, people have lost faith in the system and want to find solutions on their own - including settling scores with others. Dear MMS / SG and whoever else matters, please work on these 2 things quickly. All economic growth that we are talking of is meaningless if we cannot have a happy society. We should work on the Happiness Quotient model like the scandinavian countries and not by the GDP / PCI model. But man... who cares for this insignificant citizen's words?

Perry scratched the top of his head. He’d not meant to get into a sociological discussion nor did he feel capable at the moment. At the same time he felt he had to say something. Luna was looking at him intently. “Well, let’s see,” he said “I haven’t really though about this too much, but there’s a lot of discontentment in our society from heightened expectation and a sense of entitlement. Nobody’s ever really satisfied.”

“I don’t understand,” Luna said.

“Let me give you an example,” Perry said. “If somebody gets a Ford Explorer the next thing they see is an ad for a Lincoln Navigator, that makes the Explorer seem unappealing.”

“I don’t know what those are,” Luna said.

“It’s just stuff,” Perry said, “And we’re conditioned through relentless advertising to feel it’s never the right stuff.”.

“I don’t understand that kind of covetousness,” Luna said. “We don’t have anything like that here in Interterra.”

“Well, then it’s hard to explain,” Perry said. “But anyway there’s a lot of discontentment which especially comes to a head in poor families which have even less stuff than everyone else and within families people tend to take it out on each other.”

“Its sad,” Luna said. “And frightening.”

“It can be,” Perry agreed. “But we’re kind’a conditioned not to think about it since it all drives our economy.”

“It seems strange to have a society that encourages viole

Thank you, Joseph. I just hope like minded people can come together to bring about this change. Unfortunately, we are too busy with the daily grind. On top of it, the fundamentalists on all sides will not let a population policy take birth. Each is worried about the shrinking population of their own religion. It's a very sorry state. You drive on the roads and there are people eveywhere. When your family wants to go out on a weekend, you don't want to drive on the roads that are so over-crowded. Half the country is going to sleep without a proper meal. What are we doing? Is this prosperity? Thanks indeed for your words... I thought some guy will come and abuse me asking me to compare the population growth between different religions in India.

Dear Citizen,

You are not insignificant. Neither are any of us, whether vitriolic, biased, alien or alienated.

Accepted talk is cheap but gradually it leads to a consensus. Rediff bol is not a strong enough forum yet its a beginning.

Your view point is absolutely right and to lend credence beyond lip service, I quote below something I came across in a book I was reading last night.
---------------------------------------
Robin Cook – Abducted (Page 186-7)
Luna – Inter terrain (aka Atlantis)
Perry – Terrain (Earth)
Richard – Terrain – far rung down ex navy employee of Perry (also whorled into Inter terrain)

……..

“No, thank you,” Luna said. She began to wander aimlessly around the room.
“You seem upset,” Perry said. For lack of anything better to do, he went over and sat on the bed.
“I am,” Luna admitted. “I’ve never seen a person act the way Richard did.”
“He’s not our best ambassador,” Perry said.
“Are there many people like him where you come from?” Luna asked.
“Unfortunately, his type is not uncommon,” Perry said. “Usually there’s a history of abuse that gets handed down from generation to generation.”
Luna shook her head. “Where does the stimulus for the abuse come from?”

Perry scratched the top of his head. He’d not meant to get into a sociological discussion nor did he feel capable at the moment. At the same time he felt he had to say something. Luna was looking at him intently. “Well, let’s see,” he said “I haven’t really thoug
