TADA and not just POTA
by Diler Dogra on Jul 28, 2008 01:34 PM

In the past 4 years and after many terrorist attacks Indian police has not been able to solve any terrorist case, not even the deadly 7/11 Mumbai blasts. Police and intelligence organizations are expressing helplessness and frustration. The reason Police say is that we do not have a proper anti-terror law and cannot interrogate or hold terror suspects. They say that fight against terror cannot be fought by Policae alone, Media, Polity and public have to do their part as well. Police was able to arrest some terror suspects but could not solve the case or break in deeper into these organizations. This is leading to unfortunate situation where Terrorists getting bolder and deadlier after each terror act. Mumbai serial blasts case in 1992 was solved because we had TADA that time which helped not just in apprehending the terrorists but also in discouraging any such future event. As a proof no terror act happened after 1992 till the repeal of TADA by congress under pressure of Muslim, pseudo-secular and Human (read muslim) rights organizations. These organizations claim anti-terror laws are against Muslims. Our country does not have an anti-terror law even though there is a UN resolution which mandates each country to set up anti-terrorism laws and even Europe and America have specialized anti-terror laws. Not a single terrorist in J&K has been convicted. In fact PDP-Congress coalition released most of the terrorists and gave them government jobs and monetary compensation c
