Although I don't oppose the nuclear deal perse to simplify it as the UPA drumbeats it to be the greatest boon for a power starved India is total crap. Who stopped the self-serving politicians who ruled the country since independence to generate power from coal, hydel etc.,which had no international sanctions for us to develop? Also most countries in the world are self-sufficient in power without even having a single nuclear power plant. So let us not fool ourselves into believing that nuclear power is panacea to all our ills on the power front. Unless politicians are made accountable, no amount of new technology to generate power with or without international assistance will help our country.

Do not forget that it is the communists and pseudo socialists who kept fighting against privatization in the power sector. The policies followed by the Congress party as well as the Janata party before the economic policy liberalization in 1991 were wrong. That does not ipso facto imply that the new policies followed by the current government are wrong. This is a wrong observation. Last time election commission split the election schedule into 6 phases and deputed central reserve force to oversee the election. But left came out victories with unprecedented lead. Now no one speaks of that old story..

First believe that politics is also a kind of profession. Left always kept their cadres as full timers or professionals (not only by paying them but also those are believer of their strategy).So anybody can understand if we consider now a days professionals also they are much much more capable to handle any situation than any government employee or general people ( atleast nonpolitical people like us). In West Bengal out of 42 L.S. seats left had gone down to 26 maximum & then again come back to 37 again. They’re present in power for more than 30 years so they know pros & corns of every situation. Seating in any other area nobody can recognize what are the key features of their success. So before commenting about those people should have some sort of Idea (obviously without following what media says as in maximum occasion either they are driven by outside money power or to sale themselves positioned news which are far away from sensible) what are their powers & how they can fight back any situations………
At last assembly election also E.C. had not left any stone unturned (putting maximum local police/other officers out of system) to throw away them but ultimately left got more seats than previous time. Their illogical policies of expecting MMS to behave like a bonded slave with only 65 members has lead to a situation which they are not in a position to digest. who says it will take 20 years to power to get generated from nuclear energy? our present reactors willo start producing additional powerfrom their execess capacities which are not been used because of lack of fuel and new one will comeonline in may be 5-7 years thats normal time for comstruting such a complicated system and my dear friend they will be using private money and not public money. As far as using hydro power is it take 10 years to build a new one and lot of social and ecological problems are assosiated with it, Non of the US companies have build a new reactor in last 30 years so majority of contracts will go to french russian and japanies companies so we will depended on US grow up get your facts and get out of US hate club dud

there is an old saying .. "dont put all eggs in one basket" .the Idea is to have more options rather than depend on coal and hydro . Cant understand how the technology will be 'just go obsolate' in 20 yrs .. has the good old thermal/hydro powered turbine technology obsolate yet ? even if takes 20 years to realise the potential of nuke power , we got to start somewhere , is nt it boss ? frankly I doubt if there wud be that much delay as the other options especially hydro takes decades to operationalize

By 2030 our country would need three times more power generation capacity than we have at present. We will need to develop all our energy resources coal based, hydro and renewable energy and nuclear. Nuclear energy can be useful to meet some of the base load power demand which would be at least double the current installed capacity. We just need to get our sense of proportions and priorities right
