Fight against them until idolatry is no more and Allah's religion reigns supreme. (different translation: ) Fight them until there is no persecution and the religion is God's entirely. - Koron sura 2:193 and 8:39
O believers, take not Jews and Christians as friends; they are friends of each other. Those of you who make them his friends is one of them. God does not guide an unjust people. - Koron sura 5:54

You are missing the preceding verses and the context, it is like this: 2:190 Fight in the cause of Allah those who fight you, but do not transgress limits; for Allah loveth not transgressors.
2:191 And slay them wherever ye catch them, and turn them out from where they have Turned you out; for tumult and oppression are worse than slaughter; but fight them not at the Sacred Mosque, unless they (first) fight you there; but if they fight you, slay them. Such is the reward of those who suppress faith.
2:192 But if they cease, Allah is Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful.
2:193 And fight them on until there is no more Tumult or oppression, and there prevail justice and faith in Allah; but if they cease, Let there be no hostility except to those who practise oppression.
Usually what you find in Anti Islam websites is that they take out cetain extracts, and do not give the preceding and succeeding verses. I would say that whenever you come across such verses, see the above or below verse, and it might indicate that the message is not what you are bein told it is.

Look man- it is all BS! You say .."then do not abuse what they worship. "
If that is the case, how can you justify dafacing anddestruction of countless Hindu temples (including Halebidu in Karnataka)? It is all easy for you mooslems to justify every cow dung your prophet wrote in order to control a bunch of idiots fighting with him.
None of your primitive middle-eastern religions have any depth- Take Bible, it is all about Israel and surrounding 5 square miles- that is it! Jesus did not know his behind from the behind of a donkey. Same with prophet, he did not know the world had many civilizations. Wake up andrealize all you thugs from islam are the terrorists. (Mama- complain to rediff.. my sentiments are hurt.. Wah.. abuse alert- delete...delete...)

Your message is irrelevant. So it got deleted. And I do not think making mr. Advani the PM would make any difference.

Kata Dhon, Your concerns are relevant on facts. JGN may not have realised it. 1) The total disrespect with which Shia places of extreme importance, such as the Karbala shrine were blasted by Sunni extremists in Iraq is a matter of huge concern. American forces were indifferent to the kidnapping and torture of Shias (60% of Iraq's population) but they went on fighting the Al-Sadr's Shia militia. My guess is they wanted to make peace with the Sunni militia, especially, in Anbar province, so that Sunnis will join the Shia President to form a stable govt. in Iraq. 2) In Pakistan, annually, at least three to four hundred Shias are killed by Sunni extremists. Govt. of Pakistan is suspicious of Shias for its top secret recruitments in entities such as ISI. Anecdotal evidence only. There is some job-discrimination against Shias at many levels in Pak. 3) Saddam Hussein, who was not a Shia, I am told, was encouraged to fight with Shia Iran by Saudi Arabia, Sudan and Egypt. The war lasted eight years of intense fighting. Lots of money and materials came from Saudi Arabia. 4) In Yeman, the govt., which is Sunni is trying to convert or kill off a Shia minority. 5) Some of the second-ranking BJP officials are, I am told, Shia. They stand every chance of not only becoming ministers but deciding on BJP's policies in the future. Many muslim cadre members of the BJP, I am told, are of Shia origin, some Ahmadiyas. All this is only anecdotal.

iyer all above happened due to political reason not religious.now shia are killing shias.alsadr communalize the issue otherwise it americans versus iraqi.all were united.during saddam time shia uprising was supressed as was on the instruction of cia&america.yemen is ruled by shia.eight yr war was because khomaini wanted to export revolution to neighbouring countries. ALL PAIN &SUFFERING IN AREA BECAUSE OF AMERICAN PRESENCE IN THE AREA.
I read most of the comments written on the page and I kept thinking why we are writing such messages on this public forum. I am sure that none of the people know exactly what happened. I live in Baghpat and was at the site when the busses were being burnt. Its was a general fight between 2 neighbors which turned out to be a communical altercation. Just like people here on this discussion board with no relation whatsoever have started abusing each other. What surprises me is the fact there is so much hatred between all of us. If some one hurts me or my friends or my family I will have issues with him alone as he is responsible for the cause not to the religion/community/region etc he belongs to. I am a Hindu and lost my father in a communal riot. But in no way I will ever blame any specific community for the cause. There are extreme people in the society, and it is becos of such people we start associating with them. Be it Praveen Togadia, Ahmed Bukhari or any XYZee, I don't gv them power to decide my life. I love my friends and have a good number of christians and Muslims in the group, but I love them as good human being and can completely depend on them. I may sound different, but I request each one of you to trust your feelings when it comes to ppl and not these jokers who have ulterior motives.

You are right - you should not nurse hatred towards any community or people for your father's loss.
We should indeed love all people as human beings. We should not discriminate against anyone because his religious belief is different.
And that is why we must oppose ideologies which believe that anyone not following them is automatically evil, and has to be either converted or killed.
Attack the ideology of hate, love the people who are unfortunate enough to be born into that ideology.

Reading your post prompted me to to write this. I feel that people like you are worthy of admiration. I agree with you that as Indians, we must not be hasty in forming opinions. There is a lot of scope for manipulation by vested interests. More so since we have now entered into a preparatory General election mode, for next year, therefore, it is possible that a lot of local governements would be destabilized, by various means.
Please also accept my condolence to your father's death.
@ali, these are not assumptions, when you are not willing to stand by your beliefs, then why are you so confident about it, is it not true that only you people are good, i am asking you a direct question, answer it if you have the guts, then we will see, your evasive answers itself show that you do not believe your faith.
My answer :
A devout law abiding hindu is better than a non law abiding muslim. I hope this time you didnt think that I was trying to confuse you.

Majed Ali, I appreciate your open mind. I believe, you have a good heart, and so you judge well. At the end of the day, all humans have two kidneys, two eyes, the same sort of digestive and other organs, the blood is the same colour..... !! We should not allow theology of any religion to stop us appreciating each other's goodness and badness. I buy my masala, dhal vagaira from one particular shop because the shop-owner is honest - he happens to be a muslim. My plumber-cum-electrician is good with his skills, he happens to be a Hindu!! Three or four people who have cheated me in the past, some were Hindu, some were Muslim. So, it shows, there is good and bad in every bunch!! Hindus are not too strong on religion. The feeling is that Muslims may be a bit too strong on religion and allow that to influence other areas of their lives.

Dear Majed Ali, the so-called holy books are creations of sur-realistic visionaries. They are no more serious than Gulliver's Travels or Aesop's Fables.
Life on planet earth is the only thing known to mankind. Enjoy that to the fullest extent possible without harming others for getting rewards in an imaginary life here-after.
Believe in yourself. Beleive in the basic goodness of all humanbeings. Beleive in the principles of neo-humanism and modern civil laws.

Kata Dhon, I cannot see any abusive words. You have expressed your political stand, your assessment of certain events, your opinion as to who should become India's PM in 2009. Many others have also expressed views against Advani, against Modi and so on. Their messages remain on the board.
