I dislike communism and the CPIM policies in particular, their obscurantism. But I support the decision. No individual is above an institution. A politician is not above his party so long as he is a member of the party. The Indian Constitution does not mandate the Speaker to leave his party. Chatterjee ought to have taken the call of his party mandarins. Gomang as CM listened to the High Command and voted out the Bajpayee Govt. Thereby the sheer inconsistencey in the Constitution was exposed. Indian Constitution is a paradox. It is full of incongruity.

Hi Sahadevan. Where are you now? With Communist Party of India (Marxist) or Communist Party of India (Mayawati)? How much money Karat got from Mayawati and changed his ideology. How shameless he is? He is still holding the post after such a debacle. We were surprised at the activities of Karat once we considered an honest person. We don't accept the logic given by Karat for Mr. Somenath Chatterjee's expulsion. Mr. Chatterjee had shown respect to the Indian democratic system. It is true that no one is above party. But you also also teach Karat of CPI(Mayabati) that party is not above country. Karat should have taken responsibility and resign instead of enjoying the chair with family members.

His affection for western lifestyle and love for italian dishes was not acquired during the trust vote !! I would suggest comrade sahadevan to go and visit North korea - it is a great example for one of the only communist countries. There is no Mobile Phone, No Internet.. I would assume our dearest greatest comrade would understand what life is in North korea and then say that communism is great and noble. Please understand dear comrade that communism is a dream which is not real .. it is never ever goin to succeed unless there are only "clones" in this world..the world is about being unequal and different and that z the way it is.. yes some sort of sanity has to be maintained to rule out inequality,, but communism which is oppression by itself is not surely the way.. The left should have taken a rather mature approach instead of humiliating a highly respected person. They also acted in hurry in pulling out support and in the same fashion expeling Somnath. We must always keep a chance of discussion and take expression of the otherside before jumping to the guns. We should bring understanding not only with other parties to some extend but within party to a large extend.
Bengal faught with formidable british for freedom of India with their blood,sweat and tears. They have been denied share of power not only at the center but also in their own leftist party.
CPIM has been hijacked by rootless and power hungry fellows like Karat ,Yechury ..who have not won even a muncipal election... These obnoxious fellows do not want any bengali to occupy any position of power not only at center but also in the party. Just like they prevented Jyoti Babu from becoming PM in 1996 and prevented Somnath Da from contesting Vice Prez post!!!These fellows are against bengals progress..just behaving like Greg Chappel .. what he did to Sourav and showed finger to Kolkata ...these scoundrels are deriving power from MPs of bengal and working against bengals progress..
