Both houses
by Nagesh Bhagwat on Jul 21, 2008 04:26 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

If you look at Kerala, the Left and the Congress have been fighting. UDF and LDF.

At the Center, they want to eat together. Sonia has masterminded the positioning of the leaders of both houses. Somnath and Hamid Ansari. By placing Left candidates at the Top, she ensured that even if the Left withdrew support, these 2 will be reluctant to dissolve their own houses.

Do you see my point. What does the great Sahadevan KK have to say?

Article 105
by Sanjay Baxi on Jul 21, 2008 04:26 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Article 105(1) of the Constitution provides that subject to the provisions of the
Constitution and to the rules and standing orders regulating the procedure of Parliament,
there shall be freedom of speech in Parliament. Clause (2) of the same article says that no
member of Parliament shall be liable to any proceeding in any court of law in respect of
anything said or any vote given by him in Parliament or any of its Committees. Similar
provisions are there for members of State Legislatures under article 194 of the Constitution.
The Hon’ble Supreme Court in its judgement in 1998 in the JMM pay off case held
that a bribe-taker can claim immunity under article 105 of the Constitution if he has actually
spoken or voted as per the wishes of the bribe-giver. As a result what was morally
impermissible was made legally permissible. It would have never been the intention of the
founding fathers of our Constitution that such a protection shall be given to a person
involved in corrupt practices or acts.
The Constitution Review Commission in its report submitted in 2002 observed that
such an interpretation of immunity of members of Parliament runs counter to all nations of
justice, fairplay and good conduct. It has further been observed that freedom of speech
inside the House cannot be used by members to solicit or accept bribes which is an offence
under the criminal law of the country and JMM verdict makes it necessary to clarify true
intent of the Constitution. Any mem

Any member of Parliament accepting money or any other valuable
gift in consideration of speaking or raising a matter or giving vote in a certain manner in
the House should be liable for action under the ordinary law of the land.
The cash-for-question scam which came to light during the last winter session of
Parliament in 2005 rocked the roots of the biggest democracy in the world. Therefore, to
protect the dignity, honour and respect of the Parliament and its members, it is essential to
put it beyond doubt that protection against legal action under article 105 of the Constitution
does not extend to cover corrupt acts.

by anzar shennatt on Jul 21, 2008 04:21 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

come from a place where CPI and CPM has got very strong presence. Here are few facts about the great commuist leaders
1.A popular CPM leader A.Kanaran asked his party men to ut down the coconut tress belonging to muslims during the communal clashes in Kozhikode. He was behind the killing of many muslims in that riot.
2.The christian leaders in left conducts their children's marriage only in the church to which they belong eg:-MM Lawrence
3.Kerala CM achudhanandhan's(the so called fighter against corruption) son was appointed as MD of Coir board when he was just a fresh MBA from an ordinary college. Is it any better than corruption
4.Achudhanandhan had abused TJ anjalose(the MP from alappuzha) by calling him a fisher man('Mean perukki nadanna cherukkan') which clearly shows how much castiest he is.
5.during the Nayanar govt's rule home ministry was controlled by P.Sasi(Nayanar's PA,now A top leader in kannur and having businesses in Kuwait) and he took bribes along with the then DJP(Its a shame that he shares his surname with one of the great PM of India) for officer's transer and many govt orders regarding the disputes between different divisions in kerala. Nayanar was an inefficeint minister (a good joker) and was corrupt.
6.Few communist followers from my village went to see Pinarayi VIajayan's(CPM party secretary, kerala) house and was really surprised to see such a huge bungalow.they were all telling that it's party's money when reality is it's his earnings fro

Same apply for all political leaders.

Why Left alone should be highlighted?

Political parties are for power, they need power to rule.

For that the requirements are:

Cash
Caste
Religion
Corruption...

Those are all not only reserved for Congress, its for everyone.

Leftists are bunch of Jokers
by red chillies on Jul 21, 2008 04:21 PM  Permalink

Leftists are Jokers and Corrupt Chinese Bootlickers.....they have no future.
Bengal and Kerala should never ever vote them.
Present Left leadership is absolutely incapable of any ability other than fulfilling personal ambitions. Karat,Bardhan and Sitaram are small time minnows who will put the front into a black-hole ...a point of no return and a heavy loss for them in near future.
