if bjp is pariah, so is somnath
by raj on Jul 17, 2008 12:53 AM  Permalink

somnath just proved why congress likes to plant their people in governors positions to protect their intersts. and all those "planted" governors failed to protect the constitutional procedures. proved in the court. somnath just proved the precedence. its now inevitable that the majority will wake up against this divide and rule policy by UPA/ congress/ left - the politics of hatred. if bjp is so unwanted by these parties - i think its an insult to all those people who vote for bjp - and the number is only increasing - people waking up. its time to show these sycophants their place!

being neutral is the best, talk of development and progress. but this caustic attitude is unforgivable, especially since congress is in no measure above caste and religion based politics.

Speaker Somnath can disqualify all leftists before the vote.
by viswanatha seshadri on Jul 17, 2008 12:07 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

As Yechuri has admitted, it was a mistake for leftist parties to include the speaker's name in the list of lefist MPs submitted to the President. It is an affront to the constitutional position of the speaker. It has been further aggravated by Karat demanding his resignation as speaker, implying that the speaker is still under the orders of leftist party leadership, even after his election as speaker. In view of this affront to the constitution, the speaker can disqualify all the leftist MPs for the rest of their term, before the vote. The NPA will easily win the vote, with the leftists kept out of voting. After the deal is processed, MMSingh can resign and call for fresh elections. Congress may win again under his leadership. He can then choose really competant ministers without having to satisfy sonia's churchian demands.

A person is telling he is not to vote along with BJP.How can he be proved as an impertial person,He is totally biased,we have seen him no.of times in perlament,he knows that if there is a midterm poll he might not be elected as a an M.P.Once he was defated by Mamta Banerjee. This time such situatin arises in Bengal anybody can defeat him.He is so afraid he started all this drama,no idology or no impertiality is coming between it.it is all the game of survival.

Impartiality is dangerous than partiality. It is like person with hidden knife.
Somnath has some support from CPM faction of jyothibasu.
In the history of CPM if any party member violates party decision he will be kicked out.
Party is above personality.
There is a clearcut division between text book communist and popular communists.

Somnath should not have uttered so
by mallaiah anchoori on Jul 16, 2008 11:52 PM  Permalink

Unwittingly,Somnath Chatterjee is caught by BJP who is after all right in getting offended to what he uttered despite being the speaker of Lok sabha!Yah!Somnath should not have uttered so-so much so after sayng repeatedly in public that, being a speaker he is above the partisan politics and as such not bound by the whip of his party to vote against the UPA govt.If he has any ideological difference with BP as a member of left party OR he differs prsonally with his party's mandate,he should vent it out silently in the ensuig no confidence motion instead of making such impulsive and irresponsible statement which has the effect of tarnishing the very sancity of the post he holds and bringing disrespect to it.From the live telecast of the Lok Sabha proceedings,we find him, many a times, being very emotional-a trait which does not,at all, suit to the nature of duties he opted to undertake sitting in that prestigeous seat.He should learn remaining cool & restrained.
