Speaker Must Resign
by Kumar Subramanian on Jul 14, 2008 01:12 PM  Permalink

It is must that either he should resign from the speaker position as it is offered because of the alliance made with the congress or he must resign from the primary membership of CPI. Nowadays even the people who got good names like Somnath also surrendering themselves behind power. If this is the case, it is very difficult coming days for India's growth as 99% of our politicians are corrupted, power hungry and they feel they are much above the law and our poor people are expecting something to be done by them. People are now exhausted by the behavior of politicians. Look nowadays politicians knows the importance of media and they took it under their control and spreading news as they wish. As tech india tries to pull india into some years of advancement, but politicians india pulls it back and trying to sell it other countries.
Please aware our politicians are not ordinary people, they are all multi crorepathis and billionaires.

Subramaniam:

Why is it a must that he should resign from speaker position? Do you know what a position of the speaker of the house means?

Which party does s/he belong to? Recall some civics you read 30-40 years ago... (obviously long back, coz you seem to have forgotten most of it)..

Prime Minister and his cabinet are the seat of power, mate... not the speaker... get your priorities right

If Chatterjee doesn't resign -- how is Singh King?

You seem to go gaga since yesterday.... sun sets in the west = Singh is King..

India was ruled by Britishers = Singh is King..
Your name is Amrit Arora = Singh is King..

2 and 2 make 4 = Singh is King and will "conform" to "Precident" thet he has 280 MPs...

Setting precedents are we?.. ;-)

Speaker's position is above all politics, like VP & Pres.
by viswanatha seshadri on Jul 14, 2008 12:46 PM  Permalink

When someone is elected speaker of the lok-sabha, he is raised above politics, nuetral to all parties, to decide matters as per rules of procedure. Once a speaker, he should not revert to party politics. He should retire on pension, like VP, President. Karat and Basu are wrong in treating Somnath as part of their party and expecting him to tow their lines. But you cannot expect political correctness from the mad marxists of india. When they go to colleges, they go there only to ruin the discipline there, not to learn anything. Clearly, karat has not learnt much at JNU, nor Basu at the London School of Economics. Both institutions should, perhaps, withdraw degrees, if any, given to such people.

Power is not with Somnath .. he is the speaker.. beyond and above the politics... perhaps you know what speaker's post means (never mind what Giridhar Gomang did to BJP in 1998..)

Please examine who is "sticking" to power hook or crook.... hint: Mulayam Singh Yadav might mean something to you in reference to a certain Italain lady...

:-) :-) :-) Now tell me who should quit

Speakers Position
by aandhi on Jul 14, 2008 12:38 PM  Permalink

Somnath Chaterji knows that speakers post is that of a very important value. He knows that UPA allies, RJD, SP and LJP are getting convicts into parliament for voting. He is the person who can not accept their right to vote. They are five in number, which must be a matter of concern for both, government as well as opposition.
