UPA to MPs: Dear, come to near.
One MP: O.K. Give me ...crores.
UPA: Done. What next?
Another MP: I have plenty of money. I don't need that. (being terrified)Just let me go scot free from CBI's grip)
UPA: Done, what next?
Another MP: Promise me for a ticket.
UPA: Done, what next?
Another MP: Give me a lathi, stone, sandal, chappal proof so that I would face my voters in my constituency bravely for supporting you in exchange of all these(weeping)un.unn...unn..

the UPA, Unholy Political Alliance, knows how to play with numbers, ask Shibu Soren! that's why they want 10 more days, despite claiming that they have numbers!! The corporates aligned to them will have to loosen their purse a bit. longer UPA stays closer it will come to self destruction, unfortunately India may have paid a heavy price on its resources by then!!

UPA Government
by balasubramaniyan ps on Jul 11, 2008 02:42 PM  Permalink

The government just got a tool in the name of nuclear deal. All will be talking about this and the real problem of inflation and people's suffering will be forgotten, atleast for one or two months.
This is what the government want. During Trust vote not only the Nuclear deal but also the inflation matter etc to be taken. In that case, this government can not carryon with the present numbers also

UPA....... Good Bye...
by maneesh mishra on Jul 11, 2008 02:41 PM  Permalink

The family feud is now the Indian political feud. According to some political observers, Amar Singh, the disciple of Anil Ambani, forced the Congress party to provide assurances that the current UPA coalition Government will make Mukesh Ambani’s life hell. The Congress leadership miscalculated Mukesh has already infiltrated the SP backbone. Now 18 of the 35 MPs take their marching orders from Mukesh and the remaining 17 from Anil.

Pranab Mukherjee and Manmohan Singh at the insistence of Sonia Gandhi are trying to meet and bring Mukesh in their camp. Anil is upset on that and he wants Amar Singh and SP proper to withdraw support if Congress party bows to Mukesh

SURVIVE?
by SASI on Jul 11, 2008 02:38 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

No one is worrying about government survival, because only 8 months to go for election.

SP-Supports Congress - it is a big gain for BJP, becuase the third front disappears so the TELUGU DESAM, MAYAVATHI, ADMK, LOKDAL had no other way than supporting BJP.

So now the real beneficiary is BJP only. Any way ADVANI will be the next prime minister of INDIA.

It is the Congress that gains upperhand for next General Election. ( I am not a Congressi)

Reason : 1) SP- Cong combine will get much better seats than BJP or BSP.

2) RJD-Cong-Sp combine in Bihar will trouce the BJP-samata combine.

3) At other places there will not be much difference.

SURVIVAL OF CONGRESS
by Dwaraka Nath on Jul 11, 2008 02:34 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

WHETHER UPA A CONGLAMARATE OF JOKERS IN THE GREAT INDIAN DEMOCRATIC CIRCUS WINS THE TRUST VOTE OR NOT, IT IS A SHAME ON INDIAN DEMOCRACY. PRESENT POLITICIANS HAVE STOOPED TO SUCH A LEVEL THEY ARE TWISTING DEMOCRACY TO THEIR ADVANTAGE AT THE COST OF THE PEOPLE AND THE TAXES THEY HAVE PAID.

WHATEVER CONGRESS DOES IS CORRECT AND NOBODY CAN QUESTION. IF THE SAME TACTICS ARE ADOPTED BY OTHERS IT WILL BE TERMED AS SUBVERSION OF DEMOCRACY ETC. WHETHER INTELLECTUALS HAVE DIED IN THIS COUNTRY AND NOBODY IS THERE TO QUESTION HAPPENINGS IN THE COUNTRY. CORPORATE BROKERS LIKE AMAR SINGH AND POLITICIANS LIKE MULAYAM ARE TAKING COUNTRY FOR THEIR ADVANTAGE.

THE PRESIDENT IS RUBBER STAMP, PRIME MINISTER IS RUBBER STAMP WHO IS RUNNING THIS COUNTRY?

Hai, INDIA is a safest country. What do you want without politicians who can control INDIA? do you want live like AFRICAN COUNTRIES without government? Do you want to live in barbarian society?

THERE MAY BE SOME CORRUPTIONS IN POLITICS, BUT OUR POLITICIANS ARE BETTER THAN ANY OTHER COUNTRY.

Will the UPA survive? A wrong question???
by Shyam on Jul 11, 2008 02:33 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

The question whether the UPA will survive appears to be a wrong one. It should be "Will the UPA Government survive?" UPA may very well survive for more time and become opposition for some time before finally getting disintegrated. The government's survival is very much at doubt - may be a 40-60 for win-lose. Even if the SP joins some (about one third = 13) may go out of SP. Even if all the undecided independents support, the magic figure may not be nearby. The unfortunate part is, the TRS which was holding some good number a couple of months ago is left with a small number which is of no big use even if they support. The Muslim-group parties may not even think of supporting on this issue. The so-called charisma of Chairperson is lost long back and MPs are openly questioning the chair and fighting. Big money may not be kept at stake since the left out time is very small and many may not be willing to spend now as this could not be recouped by their corruption before general elections, particularly given the results of recent state legislative election failures. After all they need some buffers to face the forthcoming elections. There may be a repetition of the Kashmir government downfall in Centre too. Poor Bush, he may not see the Nuke Deal get through so easily!
