Did you read them? Be honest to say. Read first, then make comments, then it will reflect your maturity. Advani worked for the nation for the last 60 years, even before perhaps your father born (if your father is less than 60 years old).

Yes I have gone through the book, You will be wondered what he said about 'Kandhar Hijack', if a home minister is unknown about such things how can you believe that he can run this country in a positive way. Actually, I did read both books cover to cover. They both make sad reading. The way Advani refuses to take responsibility for *anything* is disgusting to say the least. That includes the Ayodhya movement, which he conveniently describes as the "saddest day of my life", the Kandahar hijack episode which he tries to wash his hands off, etc. Jaswant's book is no different. It is pretty clear he was taken for a ride by Talbott, but Jaswant tries to give it a transparent spin. Also, the parts about a "mole" in the PM's office make him look like a complete idiot (Yes, he backtracked on those parts later).
It is my views that you are discussing, so no need to drag family members into this. Doing so hardly earns you any respect.
My last post on this topic, so feel free to insult me, my relatives and anyone else you feel like.

Advani is a National Leader like Vajpayi , who have huge mass followers , while these Jaswant Singhs/ MM Joshis are just political leaders with no mass base & have lost last elections & many more in past. Advani & vajpayi wr only 2 leaders who won their seats even in 1984 , when there was sympathy wave after Indira Gandhi's death. Advani couldnt do more as per his desire as he was not PM & his party didnt have full majority . These Jaswant & Joshis are just doing leg pulling & cant do any significant harm in election or even on Advani's image.... so lets see how Advani will run this country now..hope his party get full majority.... mayawati is going to be Deputy PM after election.. so lets see how much freedom she & other NDA partners give to him.....as one thing is for sure ..that UPA will be wiped out after this election & chances of next govt. of NDA are fair..
Only Advani could have thought of this insane idea of "moulding" himself after Obama...
Obama is positioned as a young agent of change, and a Washington outsider.
How could possibly an 81-year old career politician, who has enjoyed a stint in power (and messed up big time) possibly "fashion himself as an Obama"???

I think you dont know any thing. It is the leftists who are withdrawing support from the UPA govt. It is not the job of opposition party to provide numbers to the govt. UPA has to prove its majority in parliament. Pls think before writing any thing. I think you have forgotten how congress withdrew support from Charan Singh, Chandra Shekhar, Deve Gowda and I.K.Gujral without any reason.What do you want from BJP. To vote for UPA in parliament.

BJP also did hi-fi campaign in last election... under their chrismatic Political Manager Late Pramod Mahajan...India Shinning... what happened after that ..... everyone knows.... India didnt shine but it was Congress which got shine :)) Again they want to repeat the same thing... they should understand that Inidan public is not American & most of us here are illiterate.. who votes either for their cast / religion or against money for their vote.... educated voters are less in number & more than half of it doesnt vote.. as they think their vote will not make any difference & any one of the corrupt & notorious candidate will be elected..& they cant do anything .. as No Vote process is so much complex here that even Election commission dont wnt these No Votes , as No Vote will reduce the winning margin by same number as that of No Votes , so it will force them for re-election , which no one wants... this is the problem... It can be solved only if they are able to field Candidates , with good credentials... whom educated Voters will vote.. but they will not do so.. as winning cahnce of such candidates will be slim.. for same reason.. huge number of Illiterate Voters.. who vote for cast/ religion & Money.. so bss aise he chalta rahega....

Np two things can be compared. India of 2004 and India of 2008 are very different. BJP lost in 2004 despite they did so good and faced no anti-incumbancy. Now look at the Congress, they ruined the economy and to cover their total failures digged out a dead issue called nuclear. People of India are very cleaver, they knows what to do during elctions. Nuclear deal will not bring them rice, bread, and daliy needs. Congress is desperate and frustated, as they could not win one state election in the last 3 years.

I think after this elections that wud be the only choice left for him - with Office next to Dawood's Chamber, two persons fulfilling ISIs objective - working against Indian Constitution and destabilising India.
If there is one party which will suffer the most from this N-Deal tamasha, it is the BJP. Let's face it. The Congress is weak, but well intentioned. The Communists are traitors, and have been so for the last 60 years. But the BJP? They were supposed to be the Strong Indian Party, who stood up for this country. Now they have let the whole country down in a cynical opposition to a deal which would have made India strong and prosperous. All for one man. All so that Advani, finally at the age of 80, becomes PM by bringing down Manmohan Singh. Like I said, history will not be kind to BJP.

The BJP is not fully against the deal, first you understand!! it wants to renogiate certain class, but from first day onwards congress ignored the BJP even it did not include the co ordination committee, instead it included left.
the problematic area is the inspection of our areas even without our knowledge..
We want to develope our thoriyum, which cost is low and abundant in India. but america wants that India should lick them always for wanting of urenium!!
what will happen to our research till date? what about the mentality of our scientists? is it sin to develope something on our own?
In 2032 our power requirement is 8 lac megawatt and thru this deal we only get 30 to 40 thousands MW, then why so much hurry?

first, 5% is a huge number when it is of the power consumption. second, 2032 may look far away, but any delay will be added to 2032 and so it will be 2033 if we delay the deal further
it is not about selling myself or my family, it's anuclear deal. By your analogy, what is the guarantee that we won't have to do the same a year later.

Congress party brought down BJP's govt in 13 months without any reason, after that also can't make the govt, country goes to poll within two years. BJP govt's nuclear test also not supported by Congress. Now the want support from BJP for N deal. Why should BJP support sense less Congress?
Both the castes are also well known for exploting the whole nation for centuries. One has been doing socially and another economically. Irony is that they have not changed their attitude in the modern age.
