Actually, I did read both books cover to cover. They both make sad reading. The way Advani refuses to take responsibility for *anything* is disgusting to say the least. That includes the Ayodhya movement, which he conveniently describes as the "saddest day of my life", the Kandahar hijack episode which he tries to wash his hands off, etc. Jaswant's book is no different. It is pretty clear he was taken for a ride by Talbott, but Jaswant tries to give it a transparent spin. Also, the parts about a "mole" in the PM's office make him look like a complete idiot (Yes, he backtracked on those parts later).
It is my views that you are discussing, so no need to drag family members into this. Doing so hardly earns you any respect.
