Our Indian Government and I would say 90% of Indians never treat or ever respect a martyr or any defence personnel who struggles the entire life to safeguard our country externally as well internally. We only talk big big things and that too if we get time on some particular national day like Republic or Independence Day. Except for officials being in top positions other's family are struggling and having the same pathetic life. Is it not a shame that the family of our great soldiers who have laid down their lives in Kargil is still to get something to live and they are still hoping that one day life will be better for themselves especially their kids who are to grow as a patriotic Indian. And we living in urban places would not mind spending money of unwanted things like cigerattes, drinking but would be thinking 100 times to spare even 10 Rs for the family of a martyr. No wonder 75% of Indians especially next generation is not bothered about their country.

Don't post your message at irrelevant place. Are you in your senses??
If you are not Muslim, then as long this government of spineless sycophants is in power, you'll be trated worse than cattle. See what they've done for victims of the 11th July Mumbai train bombings.
Be it Brigadier Mehata or the two brave Sentries or be Sam Bahadur our Ministers & Top Defense Officials Often feel it a wastage of time to attend their Funeral, They Forget that these are the people who gave their their life for our country, for its pride. If such a trend continues , its certain that India's future is Dark
The shabby treatment meted out to those who sacrifice thier lives for the country is indeed sad. The politicians of course could not care less, and the administrative machinery is not worth writing about. Look at America, how they honor their soldiers . Only today one read in the newspaper that the familes of both Brigadier Mehta nd MrVenka, the IFS officer will e given lifetime financial assistance. What about the families of the two ITBP jawans, their life is worth only 5 lakhs each because they are poor and junior in rank. Meaning no disrepect to the former two gentlemen who lost their lives to the bomb blast, i would say that the others deserve equal treatment. We just can't go about blaming the authorities , the people at large are also at fault, how easily have we forgotten our martyrs from the Kargil war. The media too is more interested in the sensationalising murders, showing the mystic powers of holy men and don't have much to write or show about the examplary heroes of the country.

i totally agree, all those who sacrifice there lives for the country are soon forgotten and there families are left to starve.all the promises are never fulfilled.it is time the military start looking after itself.
Its sad to see that in India..theres no value for human life.... especially when it comes to the diffence force ! You feel the difference when you move out of India,...each citizen has equal right and each lives are counted. In our country media has to be equally blamed...they prefer bollywood and politics. Has anyone imagined how hard it could be for a poor soldiers family...when his ultimate sacrifice is not at all accounted...every body is just selfish in our nation !!
