SHAM!
by nysharma on Jul 08, 2008 02:21 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

This whole thing is a SHAM ... here is my prediction:

1. The Communists will withdraw but "support from outside" to "prevent communal parties" from assuming power.

2. The Center will make the right noises and take the process forward.

3. With elections coming up in the US and the pace of securing agreements in the world stage this agreement WILL STALL.

4. The new US Govt and India will discuss "renewing and strengthening" relationships and conveniently take this back many steps.

5. Communists will hail this "achievment" and come back on board

WHO WINS?
1. Congress - for appearing like they wanted the deal.
2. Communists - for being "bold" (read the sarcasm!)
3. US - gives time for a new administration to assess the deal with fresh eyes

Net effect - this move by Communists is nothing but bluster and a sham. Time we VOTED out the communists. there is nothing positive about them - nada.

Finally, the UPA is showing some backbone. There is only so much bullshit you can put up with. The left has been treating UPA like a scumbag. If there was a dark period in the history of Indian democracy, it must be the last 4 years.

What has the UPA done for 4 years
by indianpatriot on Jul 08, 2008 01:33 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Its sometimes funny how things get done in India.. It is only in India that an incompetent government gets a chance to get back to power on an issue which is ironically again harmful to the country...only in India.

Now let us asess the performance of the so called UPA.
1. Firstly the UPA came into power from the blessings of the aam aadmi (read lower middle class, lower class , BPL and farmers).what has the UPA done for these people?
Ans: Reservations for the OBC in IIT, IIM,
b. Rural employment scheme which gives 150$ billion dollar/ year...how much of that money reaches the poor?....1% hardly.
c. Apart from these 2 the UPA has done absolutely nothing for these set of people.

2. Second the UPA has the support of the minorities - read Muslims. and what exactly has the UPA done for them?...
Haj subsidies, Cancellation of POTA, Cancellation of Amarnath land, calling Ram a non - entity, destroying Ram sethu, stopping temple construction in ayodhya.

Can any muslim answer me how does all this benefit them?.

3. Foriegn policy - UPA HAS FAILED MISERABLY on this. A disintegrated neighbour (pakistan) is left to recover.

Sold our Foriegn independence and Foriegn policy to the U.S.A by signing the so called Nuclear deal which permanently binds the country by the Hyde act.

4. ECONOMY: Enjoyed the benefits of the reforms done by the NDA govt for 3 years. but initiated NO REFORMS over the past 4 years. No investment in Industry and agriculture.

Right to Information Act

Farm loan waiver

BJP did nothing that would build the future of the country.

Employment guarantee -------where is the guarantee???
Farm Loan waiver cheap way of making money .... every body knows deserving poor family will not be benefited not even 10%
Remaining all 4 ...... are known to educted farmers only ........ estimate is that more than 70 % farmers are following their ancestor way farming ...... result is poor output Instead this they should teach or educate farmers about climate change in 50 yrs and tell them the approppriate way of farming accoding to soil

RTI act is good step .............but govt itself making it failure ............when UP assembly denied to give details claimed by Journalist ........... favouring Mukesh Ambani regarding display Income Tax returns ....which willcheck flow of money from his pocket

Right of Information Act was already passed during NDA rule. In Employment Garatee scheme hardly able to reach to the people who needed it most. Farm Loan waiver in the end it future generation have to pay as it gonna create a big deficit on our economy. And we gonna make our farmer careless on getting loan in future. Farmer's insurance was also there during NDA rule.
What are the things which are not there during NDA rule.
1.) Reservation for Student in premier intitute like IIM and IIT
2) Reservation for OBC
3)Lot of terrorist attack in Hyderbad, UP and Jaipur.

Main achievement of the UPA as highlighted by Business Standard:

"Start with the performance of the economy. Its growth rate last year has been upped from 8.7 per cent to 9 per cent, taking the average rate of growth in the four years of the Manmohan Singh government to 8.9 per cent. I cannot think of any other government that would not make a bit of a noise about such stellar success, and draw comparisons with the record of its predecessor (5.9 per cent over six years) — showing a jump of 50 per cent. Or take agriculture, whose annual growth during the UPA term has been 3.6 per cent — again a jump of nearly 50 per cent, and the best record since the 1980s."

Buddy,
Inflation is more than 12%, if you take the effect and rationalise "GDP " numbers, you will find that economy is in stall for past 18 months..
You (and every individual) is loosing money at 3-5% per annum (Real inflation rate-interest rate); that includes your retirement saving. Macro front is a disaster; if the oil price continues march up, we will soon the bankrupt govt. Add to the misery, th e"circus" unleashed in the form of "loan waiver", etc that is repeat of 1970's "circus" by congress.. Tell us which of the policies/initiatives are good in long run; keeping in view of the fact that money does not come from thin air; everything comes from taxpayers pocket-including the various form of "circus" unleashed on "taxpayers"

Inflation is rising globally not just in India and we are projecting a GDP growth of 8.7% for 2009 and u call it bankruptcy. Rationalising GDP, restricting social welfare, raising taxes are the characteristics of bankruptcy. And the taxes are reduced by this govt. if it would have been BJP we might have been paying almost half of our salaries in the present global scenario.

our culture is good and we should preserve what ever is left at all cost.
that does not mean we be snooty and not accomodate other nationals into our fold nor have a hangover or cultural arrogance or complacency. and no point in trumpeting it either. just uplift our country into one of the top.
agreed this deal is not the best deal - but there is no better deal for us at the moment - this is what it looks like.
best decisions left to a comittee with knowledgable patriots in it who can make decisions with 30 to 50 yr time frame and not just the next election.

and what do you know about the other civilizations you speak so highly about?

this should NOT be an us vs. them comparison - but rather a BOLD ACKNOWLEDGEMENT and PRIDE in our heritage - dont care if you are Hindu, Muslim or Christian. ALL OUR ANCESTORS were ONE and then some changed due to force or fervor.

PS: Here is a hint - Goa inquisition, Moghul assaults etc ... ask your grandparents what their grandparents and their grandparents were?

lets see...
a) 1942 they supported britain when we were fighting our last battle with the british in quit india movement.
b)when we founded and joined NAM they shouted from the rooftop for reasons only they understood.
c)when chian invaded us,the reaction of commies was muted.
d)when we conducted pokhran-1 the nation was celebrating but they condemned it.
e)when chinese ambassador makes irresponsible statements commies keep quiet.
f)china violated agreements and entered sikkim..reaction:mute.

It places India at a disadvantage and will make India a strategic partner of US,dilution of india's foriegn policy and traditional friendship with Russia and developing countries.

It gives US power to cancel this deal at any moment and at that point india will suffer a lot..India's nuclear progreamme will become susceptible to US pressure..

India has enough thorium reserves and nuclear energy is just 8 % of total power.

GOOD RIDDANCE OF A BAD BARGAIN.
I submit my prayer to all my countrymen to forgive me for my above frustrated expression which I couldn't control. I am certainly not speaking either for the Congress or for the nuclear treaty (that is another story. Very much against the implicit request of Einstein, the original expounder of E= mc2, The US dropped the first two bombs and totally destroyed two Japanese towns, killing and causing unspeakable "rado-acive" harm to innocent people in milions. I wish to know what right they have to talk about nuclear disarmament? But in this 'dog eat dog' world we have to tow the line for the sake of 'diplomacy' go ahead with the agreement with enough saving clauses)
Now talking about the Left parties. These or the only groups that are left in thi world. Marxism, Leninism and Trotskyism have become a historical past in the whole world except in our unfortunate country.
