this is the time for all parties and everybpdy in the govt to fight against inflation which is at it's all time highest, the pricess are at their highest and growing up. But instead of solving the actual major issues , they r going and spending all their 100% time on neuclear deal. In USa, there will be US president elections and everybody knows that they cannot take a major decision, but still india politicians are discussing about this deal day in and day out on this.

If knickerwallahs are to be believe - we need to only vote the BJP and inflation disappears. Advani dressed like Lord Ram will wave his Trishul - and inflation like magic retreats. Why Advani shoot his arrow and where it lands mysteriously sprouts oil. Soon it is to be discovered the half the worlds unexploited oil reserves is where the arrow lands. World oil price crashes. This is followed by crashes in other commodities. It heralds a global era of economic prosperity. Ram Rajya

Balaraman,I agree that prices are going up in
International market and we have to bear with.
But to control price rise if the prices are increased every time, that is also not fare.Instead of waiving the debts of the farmers
they could subsidise the oil price, could even
abolish several taxation on the product, could put restricted use of vehicles and ministrial expenses and so on but they did what they should not have done.

N-deal
by BHASKARAN on Jul 04, 2008 09:16 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

BJP can support the N-deal , in the interest of the nation. However, once the deal is passed in the parliament , they can call for A no confidence motion against the govt and if the commies support the congress , they will be exposed. Any BJP neta listening ?

In order to collect opposition support, they should be well-respected.
Sonia-MMSingh and undemocratic Congress never showed any respect to Opposition party.
So, I think BJP should not support Sonia and undemocratic COngress, and present form N-deal.

Let not ego come in the way of national interest. This is not to be seen as the victory of the congress over the BJP. But if indeed the BJP plays obstinate opposition like the Left, it will go down in history as an embarrassment for the BJP and the COngress can stake true claim to this landmark deal

"When challenged and asked to surrender, the heavily armed terrorists opened fire and also threw grenades." -----this is ridiculous. Do Indians know the meaning of an ambush? Is this some civilians they are dealing with to ask them to surrender. Cant they just shoot withought talking to them. Did we have loose 6 soldiers as a result!!!

by PKN on Jul 04, 2008 10:54 PM  Permalink
Bhaskaran,
The political maze in the country is too complicated for such a simple solution . The N-deal does not need to be approved by the parliament. The government can go ahead and sign the same as long as it is not a minority government.
The left knows the embarrasment of supporting a No confidence motion that was moved by the BJP. So that is an option they will dread . There is a good possiblity that the BJP will not bring a no confidence motion .
The Congress would them rule as minority government since the oppostion has not opted to prove that in the parliament .
Bardhan has therefore come up with an idea by which the Left can have its cake and eat it too.
They will give a letter to the Preisdent of India withdrawing their support . The President would then ask the Government to prove its majority . On the motion of confidence the Left would vote against the motion along with the BJP.
Bardhan thinks he has an ace up his sleeves . But I dont think he has factored in that Sonia also has an ace up hers . Pratiba Patil may be obliged to return the favor that 10 Janpath did her by making her the President .
The left may end up not having a ake to eat after all ....

by Dinesh Mittal on Jul 04, 2008 08:40 PM  Permalink

This great show of differences between the congies and the commies is nothing but a huge drama being enacted by oppurtunistic alliance partners in order to deflect the public attention from their all round dismal performance.BJP will be failing in their duty as a responsible opposition if they fail to call this bluff at the earliest

What is "geo-politics"? Our history is one of subjugation and poverty for the last 1,000 years or more. We are now being subjugated by the loony left.

Sorry sir it's not the British. However, signing the N deal will be of immense help to the nation. Any true Indian National will support this except the communists. They had no role even during the independence movement and they were the sycophants of the British. Even after independence, they are after votes only and nothing else.

Prem Mohan ,
Kalaam is no doubt one of the finest Presidents that this ocuntry had and is one of its top scientists .
But to claim Kalaam is the top most scientist in India displays nothing more than you ignorance. His opinion may be important but no nation can take all decesions based on one opinion .
Considering the balanced person that he is I am sure he will also never claim that he is the top most scientist in India
