The left, which is commonly known to mimick China perhaps isn't aware that China has made a similar deal with the US many years back and has also signed the 123 agreement (infact 23 countries have).

China whuz growth continues to stun the world will generate around 8.7 million kilowatts (8700MW) power by 2010 which is atleast 3 times where we stand. How come the commies there agree with the US on the deal...and our asses hear just keep crying?

Have you read the 123 agreement and the Hyde act? The Hyde act is India specific.

Amazing Guts
by Kris on Jul 01, 2008 04:59 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

The Left is pulling down the Govt. not for any people issue - it is not for price rise (about which they hold protests often), it is not for inflation or for unemployment, etc. It is for a non-people issue which does not immdly concern the common man in any way - to block a deal which is a definite necessity to help India come out of the 'Nuclear Apartheid' or the discriminatory nuclear regime, ensure energy security in the long term and become an acknowledged nuclear power. All this just because their favourite China is highly displeased with the deal and the terms India has managed to get from the US. Of course, China or the left is unlikely to acknowledege this openly again. Another major opponent of the deal is Pakistan who also wanted a similar deal with the US and has now finally decided to do it with China.

It takes amazing guts to do something like this - to stab the interests of one's own country and also hoodwink most people in the process. The left parties can only hope that people's usual ignorance on matters such as these helps them out in the next elections. The media has also failed in its duty by not explaining the N-deal and not fully exposing their pathetic and anti-national stand. The left parties have no locus standi to decide on India's strategic interests or the foreign policy. Can any other country's left leaning parties (Europe, Latin america,..) sink to such levels?

The country's major right wing party BJP has also not risen above petty politics throughout this crisis and is unlikely to come to the rescue of the UPA Govt in an election year. It is almost impossible for the BJP to get a better deal if it comes to power. They are so many people who will be working against that including Chinese lobbies who are just waiting for the Bush administration to go and the deal to go into cold storage.

If that deal is so good for the nation why BJP is not supporting it for the national interest. If the country will become the Ram Rajya by signing this deal why BJP is keeping mum. Have they uttered single word. OK you are saying that communists are this, that, etc.,if it is good for the nation then there are lot of other parties, why they are not coming forward to help the PM for getting it signed. People are always talking about the China. For your information China has already signed the deal where there is no hidden clause which lefts are talking about. Left has already intimated them to get it removed the hidden clauses and sign it but PM is not ready. Don't blame left parties, you have lot of time to sign the same. America will extend the date as per India's desire. No hurry burry in signing the same.

MMS wil sign this deal at any cost
by Jitendra Kumar on Jul 01, 2008 04:58 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

MMS will sign this deal at any cost . He has full support from Sonia Gandhi. Left and BJP will not be able to stop him. There was same situation during the minority Narsimha Rao government when MMS has decided to open Indian market and go for globalization. He had to face strong opposition from left and BJP at that time also. Narsimha Rao fully supported him though government was in minority. BJP and left accused him that he would sell the country but so far nobody has found the buyers name. BJP has floated swadeshi jagaran munch to oppose MMS but as soon as NDA came into the power BJP adopted the same policy. Where is swadeshi jagaran munch now?

Yes. It is true Gurumoorthy was dumped in the litter-bin by BJP as soon as they came to power. Swadesi Jagaran Manch was propagating the 'INDIANISM'. BJP got into power because of this SJM. The real colour of BJP was expose by this act. They may not have a right to talk about the country's interest unless they correct the mistake they made to Gurumoorthy.
