Every time you see a general or armed force member as a governor it means that the center is scared of seccessionists being successful and wants to make sure that it does not happen. Not that i believe in a seperate assam or condone any voilent behaviour however i fully agree that there is a systemic problem in the Indian Union. The constitution has failed the people and the gullability of the non-hindi speak population have been taken advantage of. In assam failure of both the central and the state congressi leaders are completely to blame for the problem.
ULFA and the other militant groups are the ulfatted the dog pooh of the north-east.
I congratulate senior journalist D N Chakraborty -- who despite the ban imposed by the militant groups -- unfurled the national tricolour at the Press Club saying "the people of the nation must celebrate Republic Day to show respect to martyrs who sacrificed their precious lives to free their motherland from the clutches of colonial rulers".
But that is more fitting for 15th August.
I believe the people of the nation must celebrate Republic Day to show that we respect the Constitution which our forefathers adopted 58 years ago in our interest.
It means collectively as a Nation we Indians have agreed to reiterate that we consent to abide by the rules they set for us. Certain laws that are the laws of our land are supreme. Nobody -- but no body, not even the fatwa-ing mullahs nor the ulfatwa-ing ulluS -- are above the laws of the land which are applied equally -- fairly and squarely -- to us all.
Those who do not hold allegiance to our flag and our laws are free to eFphO and do their dog poo in some other araby or chinky-ponky potty.
After a couple of shameful incidents witnessed by Assam, notably during the procession and the aftermath, it is very heartning to note that our Assamese brothers showed their good side and participated in Republic Day celebrations. It is unfortunate that the serenely beautiful northeastern state was allowed to be ravaged for decades and peace loving and kind hearted and friendly Assamese had to endure and participate in violent activities. Many misguided elements took this fight further and started divisive organizations. While it is good that our brothers have stoped paying heed to the unfair diktats issued by these organizations, the Govt. must ensure that there is no more infiltaration from Bangladesh. It is hoped that shamless pandering that goes on for supposedly gaining minority votes, which has led to a great imbalance of the demography of the state is stopped, and the illegal entrants are deported. I sincerely hope that all the people start living for India now.

Have you heard of Bhogiram Barman. He is a normal guy who did a normal thing which went unnoticed. It was regarding the 'shameful incidents witnessed by Assam'. While a huge number of people present there including journalist and women did not lend their helping hand to the girl who was subjected to the inhuman torture, this guy gave her his T-shirt and also arranged her some other clothes. He also saved her from the mob very bravely. But today noone has time to cover this real hero. All are busy giving publicity to the culprits and mob violence. What went unnoticed is not only the brave act of this young man but also a large number of local residents giving shelter to the fleeing protesters. Every society have a few member who try to bring shame, darkness to it. But when we have people like Bhogiram who can show courage to stand againt inhumanity even risking his life, minimum we can do is probably to give some support to them. It is important for media to show the right side of the coin. It better if u see what you should do rather than what you shouldn't.

Its very good to know this. If the ULFA disrupts any thing in the North East by replying back. Cut the fingers of their captured leaders one by one for every blast triggered by the ULFA. Kill their relatives and parents. And highlight this in the National newspapers so that the ULFA fears all these and give up the arms. There's no other way to solve insurgency in Assam. No dialogue can be had with the foolish leadership of the ULFA who are destroying their own people..

Hey bro, wat is this "I sincerely hope that all the people start living for India now. " ha..............We were living for india, we are living for india and we will be living for one and only for india untill our eyes closes..Ok U no need to sincerely hope for that..OK
We as a republic democratic country proved the best in the world. Freedom,Prosparity and Unity is best in such a large country. However it is not reached to the intirior part of the country for which every body has to work hard and the benefits are to be reached to the last person. The organisations like ULFA are the result of interfearece from outsiders, bad politics and regionalism. We should fight against it. Congratulations to the local people for making republic day function sucessful.
