this STUPID BOLOARD always yanks on rediff forums quoting some websites which proclaim that Islam is the mother of all sciences - he is pathetically laughable! his favorite ambassador for validating islamic contribution is i guess Jimmy Carter - the same guy whom the ayatollah had called Enemy of Islam - pity, he couldn't search for a better ambassador, huh!
Anyway, the whole world knows that the islamic invasion of mid-east was the death for culture, arts, science ! these invaders in india destroyed our great temples of somnath and varanasi, they ravaged taxila university - to call this tribal creed as fountainheads of science is nothing short of blasphemy ...
Lokk at the quran and you will find umpteen instances of non-scientific gibberish, u want me to give examples??
even look today across the universities of the world: indian/hindu students are making remarkable strides as research scholars, scientists, engineers - Look at places like Bell Labs, Microsoft, Apple, filled with indians who have an intellectual tradition and ethos, supported by our ancient holy textbooks which contain the foundation of modern astronomy, vedic maths, ayurveda, physics, molecular biology, and so on ... not an arabic creed whose prophet's actions can be considered despicably atrocious : to have a member of that community pointing out its scientific legacy to us is abominable to say the least !!
So Stupid Bolard - go and take these rants to some madrasah, not here !

stop this hyperbolic sel-congratulations and point out to me 3 seminal contributions of islam, dare?? btw, first check the meaning of seminal , you STUPID

Mr. balaord, I have checked the site you mentioned. It seems that your link is to MIT Press (it is like the Oxford University Press - a Publishing House) and not the university. They will publish any book that has a potential for sale!
Your claim is like Indian Hindus claiming Mr. Srinavasa Ramanujan as their own when in fact the brahmin priests had refused to conduct his last rites as he had gone to UK and lost his "dharam" due to crossing the Seas!!!!!!1

Yes all muslims pay tax. Do you think that any muslim in India can buy any product, any product, without paying tax? For that matter can any Indian buy without paying tax? Food, beverages, clothes, building matls, sports goods, cigarettes, alcohol, petrol, diesel, travel tickets, birth, death, marriage, you name it every damn thing is taxed in this country! So whether a muslim or a christian or a hindu or a buddhist or whoever, all those who are Indians have to pay taxes--indirect and direct both. It is hightime we Indians stopped being so idiotic like asking such stupid questions on forums like these. Basic issue is funding of religious schools; well for that matter many schools of other religions apart from madrassas too receive this funding from govt. The only problem is making sure that the purpose for which the funding is used is right. Sadly madrassas have earned a bad reputation. The solution here would be for forward looking madrassas run by moderate maulvis to open the madrassas for nonmuslims as well. Start inviting nonmuslim students to study Islam and then find out if the teaching is all about hatred toward other religions. I am sure this will not be the case. I hope somebody somewhere takes cognizance of my suggestion and moves this forward.

Dont go for Europe. Stay in India. Abdul Kalam is there. It doesn't mean all are APJs here. How many of your children are educated in schools....? When compared to those in Madarassas, it will be far far away. You can't deny that.

Its good that Congress undertand that too much oiling Muslims will bear no fruit. After all there is lot of competition here-CPM,Samajwati,DMK all are good oilers. So BJP is taking away all votes.

Oilers! I like this word! This is the basic reason why Modi won in Gujarat. It was not because of Hindutva but due to disgust felt by hindus who traditionally supported Congress and other parties because of too much oiling by the "oilers!"

For "educating" 2% in madarassas, we lost Kashmir. If 20% is educated, then god help us. India will be a colony of Porkistan.
every madrassa is a centre of terrorism, but its not a fact.
in madrassas kids learn about their religion, and i think in every religion ppls use to send their kids to learn abt their religion, so whats wrong in this ???
we teach them abt our religion from a very small age. nothing bad in this.
if each and every madrassa produce terrorist then not only india but the whole world will be wiped out in few months....
so dont be jealous abt grants to muslims, just take it easy.
