Conspiracy by reactionary forces
by Hot Air on Jan 21, 2008 04:17 PM  Permalink

In a crowded press conference today, Mr. Prakash Karat alleged that the bird-flu is actually a conspiracy hatched by the reactionary forces in collusion with the bourgeois countries to sully the image of WB. He further stated that the imperialist forces are jealous of the dramatic strides achieved by the WB govt in the last few years that has resulted in the health-care indices being more advanced than the so-called developing countries. He was confident that with the help of like-minded comrades this diabolical plan against the people will be defeated comprehensively.

West Bengal
by LaX Ray on Jan 21, 2008 04:02 PM  Permalink

The ruling front has been slow in every front in West Bengal. So this is no surprise that there will be a mess there. The minister says that lack of awareness and resistance from poultry farm owners is causing this delay. Well, can he ask himself and his cadre who keep common villagers unaware of things which matters them. Who has taught to resist anything and everything. Its your party minister which has brought west Bengal to this state of affairs. Now the same thing has stung you all, no point saying all these now.

It is time for people to think of switching over to vegetarian food
by Demo-crazy on Jan 21, 2008 03:37 PM  Permalink

The bird flu scare is a very recent phenomenon but the alarming rate at which this is hitting the poultry farms, shows something is wrong with the way the humans are interfering with these birds.

In earlier times, when this had not taken the industry form, these birds had a healthy life. (Mdhusudhan has brought out that point beautifully in his humourous comment - 'Chickens must be given due care'.

Either the poultry industry changes their practices to improve the conditions, or the people should consider other food options (in any case they will forced to take out poultry products from their meal).

The mad cow disease (or BSE) also showed the havoc caused by the greedy industry, when they fed these vegetarian animals with food products made from animal industry waste.

Man has abused nature so much that it will find its own innovative ways of getting back at him. We will continue to witness more such deadly attacks by nature against us, if we do not learn to behave.

Jago India Jago
by manjunath gurav on Jan 21, 2008 03:29 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Indians will take the situation seriously only when any thing become out of control. Even after knowing severity of this Virus gov and other officials are making such delay. They will start working only after we take some violent action. So its better to plan now itself and terminate the Virus at that point.

the Chicken union of West Bengal has called for a bandh protesting against the genocide that is being carried out by the communist government!

The healthy Chickens are protesting the mass murder, as the admin is not making any difference between a healthy and a diseased bird!

Mamata chicken society has extended its moral support and Mamata didi will be on a one day fast. She will break the fast with a glass of chicken soup!

This is nature's way of answering back?
by vinay kamtikar on Jan 21, 2008 03:18 PM  Permalink

The staple food of Bengal is Aloo. However, the way the Bengalis are going "Chicken", one wonders if amount of Chicken consumed is more than Aloo.

This is natures way of telling "people to Veg". The paryers of the troubled Potato Farmers to increase consumption of Aloo in the sate have been answered albeit tragically.

Chickens must be given due care
by Mdhusudhan BS on Jan 21, 2008 03:00 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

We must have holidays for the birds and some games too. In India and in many other countries, no one is bothered about the health of the chickens.

No one is bothered about the likes/ dislikes of the hens and cocks. We should listen to them and stop pressing them to work hard to deliver the eggs by deadlines etc. I am proposing a formula to avoid the bird flus in future.
1. The chickens should not be given any deadlines for laying eggs.
2. The Chickens' place should be air conditioned and there should be a round-the-clock care taker for every 10 chickens.
3. The chickens should be allowed to play in the open ground for atleast 30 minutes daily both in the morning and evening. They should be taken out for walking.
4. The chickens should be given variety of foods instead of the regular routine food of some powder and water.
5. The CM of the state should do a grama-vastavya "Home-Stay" with the chickens atleast twice in a month. This would make sure that the concerned authority would work hard.
6. All the chickens should be allowd to have sex twice a week on a rotation basis, so that they really have a life of their own.
7. The chickens should be given an option to choose their death-date. It should not come by chance, but by choice.

Hope the above would solve the problems of chickens atleast to some extent. This is high time that the bhuddadev resigns and Mamta also takes political sanyas.

RE:Chickens must be given due care
by Demo-crazy on Jan 21, 2008 03:23 PM  Permalink
lol! very noble thoughts, Mdhusudhan.

I am extending your thoughts...
a. we could have chicken minister (CM!)
b. chicken council with equal number of hens, cocks, and chicken represented
c. the minister will tell the bird flu virus not to attack chickens, but all fundamentalists.
d. the secular chickens will form their own politburo and will support all initiatives of communists.

Unfortunately, the poultry owners do not seem to love these resolutions of chickens. Since they are anyway dying, they do not want politically aware chickens to build unions. Hence they have decided to kill and sell as many as possible (even if the bird flu infected). This is increasing the risk of all secular and commies being infected in the coming weeks...

This is the chicken soup for the bird flu scared!
