Tell them to return our land and stop messing around with us
by Sincere Citizen on Jan 15, 2008 04:20 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Tell the Chinese to return our land acquired forcibly during past wars. Stop all encroachments and give freedom to Tibet.

And yes start working on bettering their own country rather than getting into someone elses house and causing trouble.

No diplomacy with people who dont have honest intentions.

Live and le die
by Indian Sadhu on Jan 15, 2008 02:03 PM  Permalink

When was Tibet a part of China before the 50s? When was Aksai Chin a part of China before they captured it? They know as well as everyone what the truth is. However, the world is not ruled by the meek and the beggars, but by the strong. So Mr. Singh in China should realize that it is India's strength that China will respect not diplomatic parleys trying to stop the Chinese from entering Arunachal etc. Post the army over there and kick them out ... if you can, Mr. Singh.

Enraging the dragon
by Secular India on Jan 15, 2008 10:08 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Our policy seems more to prevent enraging of dragon rather than engaging the dragon. Fear drives our foriegn policy vis-a-vis China...Congress has still not got over the humiliation in made India suffer 45 years back. India's policy must work on a tit for tat framework against all its enemies. We want to win - we have to become a Ponting not a Kumble. Polite losers has many fans but they have a miserable life.

Yeah and eat optimism the way we are doing for last 60 years. Dream of a day when things will be in place, when I will have a job and eat too but donot do anything to get it. typical mark of a frustrated Indian congressi living on hope but not doing anything to change things

Yes Rahul you are correct, China has also captured Arunachal Pradesh, parts of Uttar Pradesh, Uttaranchal, Himachal Pradesh along with Akshai Chin and set up Chinese Highways in all these regions so that Indians can never get them back. Chinese are exploiting Indians.

history repeats... can we learn???
by VP on Jan 15, 2008 09:31 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

China has put many barriers internally such as exporting equipments to china need to fulfill chinese standards and quality requirements. UNFORTUNATELY, there is no such requirement from India. Hence indian suppliers face enough problems to export to china but import from china is completely barrierless.

Sending Indian workers to china is very difficult but getting chinese workers to India is very easy.

Unfortunately, Nehru was given similar impressions of bhai bhai and then he failed miserably. Unless the relations are mutually beneficial, the BOP issue can not be resolved.

Nehru Created that Term "Bhai Bhai" to fool the Chinese when he carried on with the forward policy... Hadn't for his foolish policy, we wouldn't had had the war of loose Askai Chin to the Chinese. ALL HE MANAGED TO DO WAS FOOL HIMSELF. In addition if that Defence Minister Kaul was a little sensible, we could have repelled the attack.... Bhai Bhai my foot!! In addition, we need to be more pragmatic and handle our neighbours in a more mature fashion, as expected from a powerfull nation with thousands of years of civilazion... The impression I get in this discussion board is of a people who has already given up, and lost to the " CHINA"...

Pm's Beijing jamboree1
by Jaganniwas Iyer on Jan 15, 2008 09:20 AM  Permalink

Manmohan's China trip is little else apart from the PMO's desparate gamble to hurreidly cook up some sort of "foreign policy success" and paint this servile and weak PM as some sort of 'statesman' before he is dumped, either by his Italian boss in 10 Janpath, or after the 2009 elections by the electorate. Manmohan and the Congress - in the python grip of the Red snakes - are all too willing to be taken in by China's false smiles, a bit of wining and dining here and there, and of course, China's promises and blatant lies, which has been Beijing's hallmark since the days of Mao and Zhou. Which means that we and our armed forces had better start matching China, and wait for a truly nationalist government.
