It was during his time that the CAG has exposed that the former NDA regime had spent an unauthorised sum of Rs. 62.3 crore on its %u2018India Shining%u2019 media blitz just on the eve of last year%u2019s general elections. There are numerous scams which cannot be mentioned here but I must say that this guys must get a Bharat Ratna. This guy when in opposition between 1991 and 1996, opposed PVN Rao and Manmohan Singh and said that the foreign company would come again and capture india. I remember lots of Bharat band in the name of swadeshi. This same guy when he came in power after PVN Rao, he followed the same economic policy and then he's all there to take credit for good work started by MMS. This guy (Atal) should definitely get a Bharat Ratna

He has all the guts to take other's credit. he's like a child who just watches others do something and then runs to his mother and says.. ma.. look ma I have done this.
With high respect to him. I was high admirer o him before he took to the power. Somebody needs to clearly mention what's his significant contribution to India. India faced severe recession during that period. Kashmir problem still remains the same. He 'tried' to do something about it. I would rather say using old phrase and "also ran" fits him.

Advani gave a Very good Idea before elections to Congress Party Leaders, now they can start asking Govt. to give Bharath Ratna to SONIA as it is known to even child that they try woo Mrs. Sonia....!!!! ABV should be given Award for his good things he has done in life and in his political work...

You may be tax payer , IT consultant and educated . But I doubt if you are enlightened! If you wre enlightened you would not have shown blind hatred to those you dont like. If you were enlightened you would not cut and paste the same message a number of times. You have your views express it, others have thier views let them express it their views. I dont ee any difference bewteen Sonia Bhakti and Modi/Advani Bhakti . I am not even making tall claims to be enlightened ! That I think is soemthing for others to say. Dont demand respect command it !!!
Mr Vajpayee caried a dignified political carrier with honour both within and out side the house. He served the country believing in his ideology and carried with convivtion as a Leader in the opposition and as Prime Minister.He is an articulate man with wisdom in diversity.Being a member of the Jansangh and later BJP he is not as polaristic HINDUTWA badi as Mr Advani or some of his companions are.He did express his disgust on Mr Modi's doing in his own way but should have been more vocal.He is a politician of older mode unlike Mr Advani,Modi,Mayabati and so on.In Congress itself there are only few who could stand on political milage close to Mr Vajpayee.He is a poet and never abusive.He will perhaps be the last member of old political ethos.He deserves Bharat Ratna on merit and not on any parties pleading.If Kargil war could be a factor then in 1971 Field Marshal FMS Manicshaw should be the first one.Mrs Indira Gandhi got Bharat Ratna for withstanding the force of US backed Pakistan in their act of genoside in East Pakistan now Bangladesh.She was the first to test N-detonation in POKRA and not Mr Vajpayee.All in all Mr Vajpayee do deserve Bharat Ratna in life rather been posthomusly.

Mr Madhusudan, Any un bias with a little bit of GRAY MATTER will accept that Mr Vajpayee did contribute plenty for the political life of our country confining within his conviction and ideology Swami Vivekananda was a great crusedor for the HINDUISM under the belt of clear mind with his own conviction and ideology.Can you call him parocial.My reasoning is simple for simple people who understand INDIAN Ethos where any person who contributes at and above a level of normal capacity need be rewarded.A man who has given more than fifty years of his life on any subject for the welbeing of the people of the country deserve rightful place.You may differ. I strongly feel that Mr Vajpayee deserve Bharat Ratna.
