This is what happens when 61 percent choose Islamic principles (Sharia) under the cover of democracy. Hamas(muslim brotherhood) victory under the cover of democracy is a classic example of hardliners taking power. Now, don%u2019t ask: who vandalized music stores in Gaza or why all women wear headscarf in Gaza or why Christians didn%u2019t celebrate Christmas peacefully etc.. A fair assessment points to the fact that Pakistanis destined for a Taliban style rule (sooner or later).
If only Pakistan had been part of India, our country would have kicked these Chinese and Americans' asses a long time back. Why cant we work together atleast now ? Why are we looking for each other's blood ? Pakistan should kick out terrorism,Musharraf and Osama,Dawood and make your country an open minded democracy. All is not yet lost.
I'm sure not everyone in Pakistan is an enemy of India. Most of them are moderate people who want their country to get better. If they arent, then they ought to be as wars or hatred wont lead to anything. Look at US and Canada. They seem to get along fine and they're beneficial to each other. Pakistan should get rid of its extremist elements and start fresh as a democracy. I dont see any reason why they cant succeed which would also be good for us. One thing for's sure. We can never trust the Americans or the Chinese. If we improve our relations with Pakistan and if we work together,we will be a force to reckon with. Let's forget about our hate filled past, atleast the youth should bridge the gaps and look for a better future.
Well the concept of an 'Islamic state' and 'democracy' do not match. Can anyone show me one Islamic state in this world which has had a vibrant democracy for at least a decade without any major hiccoughs? Islam and democracy do not gel and Pak should either drop the idea of an Islamic state or of democracy- it is up to the people to decide. It is because of continuous help from the USA that the Pakis could have a few trysts with democracy, but the very mindset of the people did not allow democracy to gain a foothold in Pak
The survey has highlighted the contradiction that exist in Pakistan. It is this contradiction that is a major problem for many Islamic countries and the process of democratization on which the US places such a high emphasis . On one hand there is a very high % of people that beleive that Shariat Law should be implemneted and there is an equally large % that beleives that Talibanization is to be avoided. "Talibanism" is a extremely stict implementation of the Shariat law. Can we therefore claim that Pakistan is in favour of a milder Talibanization? No one can object to an Islamic population's desire to adhere to Shariat . It is their right and forms an intergral part of their faith. It would be foolhardy for the West to suggest otherwise. The ball probabaly lies in the court of Islamic scholars who would need to revisit the Shariat lawa and reinterpret them in light of the realities of modern times . Reinterpret would be the word since otherwise that faith is equally strict on the importance of making no attempt to reject anything that the Koran states. America's beleive that democrasy would make Muslim nations move closer to America is a falacy that this survey has exposed . It also explains why the US that makes right noises on the issue of democrasy, ends up backing dictatorships in many Islamic countries. Pakstan may stand at crossroads but there is still mcuh cuase for hope .
WHY Pakis want to blame USA,when all thet want is SHARIA LAWS,ISLAMIC CONEVERSIONS,NO MINORITY RELIGIOUS RIGHTS,NO WOMEN RIGHTS,NO FREEDOM OF EXPRESION AGINST ISLAM....................WHY BLAME USA,WHEN YOU LOVE 6TH CENTUARY SO MUCH
Chacne of this Democracy and Islam working togher is Nil in Pakistan. Because, the main necessity for any country to be a democratic nation is the ability of the nation for introspection.
Now this is possible if the nation believes in Golden Rule and has conscience. These two are completely absent in case of Islam.
Koran tells Muslims that they are best people raised for mankind and their religion is perfect. With this inflated ego how is introspection possible and hence no reformation. In 1400 years of existence Islam never produce men of stature of Lincoln or Gandhi. Only Bin Laden and Zarqawi can be found. Only total annihilation of this Evil ideology is the solution.

This shows how much poor you are in Islamic History. First study Islamic history and then talk about Islam and its history you m0r0n. Though we beleive that our prophet Mohammed(pbuh) is the best person ever borned on the Earth, there are many great leaders even after the death of our prophet. All four Caliphs abu Bakr(RA) Omar(RA), Uthman(RA), Ali (RA) and many leaders and kings like Salahuddin, etc. were respected by westernerns. Salahuddin was even respected by barbarians like Crusaders. It's not Islam that is evil, it's your hatred build up in your mind by your evil organization like RSS, VHP that is evil. Islam is the greatest religion in the world and going remain irrespective whether you call it evil or with whateever name.

Islam and "understanding" and "democracy" hehehee Shenidh, you are poor on concepts of Democracy.Ha ha haha, but nothing wrong with u, u have never been tought about it.. read Koran nd be a terrorist!!!
Pakistan wouldn't have survived even this much without the US continuous aid and help...it's irony that their leaders have misused that money by creating and funding terrorism all over the world....in the same period and even with lesser aid from US ..countries like australia, new zealand, singapore etc have just flourished....Pakistan millitia keep on funding those terrorism on the false pretext of fighting against communism and western powers ignored the larger problem coming from within pakistan....still most of them don't want to betray pakistani people and general musharaf otherwise pakistan would have been a graveyard long time back....muslims has to understand that Islamic people have failed to contribute anything substantial to this modern world except from the oil resources they sit on..

sir u r mistaken, the terrorism is brainchild of CIA. Let them try out the democracy, and make an effort to put their institutions in order. It will benefit our continent, or else we may end up having protracted political battle in neighbouring country. It is very destructive process, we have witnessed it in Afganisthan.
