'Majority Pakistanis want democracy; wary of US'
by Fried Yakov on Jan 07, 2008 10:17 PM

Can anyone show me one Islamic state in this world which has had a vibrant democracy for at least a decade without any major hiccoughs? Islam and democracy do not gel and Pak should either drop the idea of an Islamic state or of democracy- it is up to the people to decide. It is because of continuous help from the USA that the Pakis could have a few trysts with democracy, but the very mindset of the people did not allow democracy to gain a foothold in Pak
