What about you Mr Tarun
by Y Singh on Feb 15, 2008 03:15 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

You and your group RSS have divided Indians on the basis of religion and now we have Raj who is doing a division based on caste. We Indians will never learn and see thru these divide and rule policies.

Have you found out whether Muslims accept that they are first Indian and then Muslim? They can never sincerely do that, because they belong to Islamic Ummah.

Congress allowed India to be divided in religious lines in 1947....it continued dividing India on religious lines for minority appeasement and vote bank politics then went on to divide on basis of caste and creed and you say RSS has divided India....brush up your history

Stupid politicians of yesteryears
by Milind Kulkarni on Feb 15, 2008 03:13 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

The politicians of yesteryears who formed the states based on language, are the culprits. Did they not envision the fallacies of such a strategy? Did they not encounter immegiate effects especially in states such as Tamil Nadu so that they can realise their mistakes? What did they do to correct the policy?

No. There is one unique culture all over America and the states are based on geography and not on language, religion, race, etc etc. You can see some states are exactly square in shape.

In current times, the states on the lines of language, caste, religion, race are at danger of anarchy because the politicians are definitely going to use such tactics. We must re-form the states on mere geographical basis which will comprise of all communities. We must encourage migration within India. We must shower benefits on those who have left their land so that one day our India will be "ONE".

Of course, language, culture, religion are important to us but they should be kept at home and not brought into politics.

Somebody explain me the authenticity of 49-O
by The DoN on Feb 15, 2008 03:13 PM  Permalink

I've heard about 49-O, which allows u to give negative vote to all the candidates when u feel none of them are worthy enough to be chosen. Can someone tell me whether this is actually present in the Electoral Rights or is just an eye-wash which arrived thru E-mail.
I know this is not related to the current topic. But because we have a nice topic out here, why not let some more in.

Sending indians out of maharashtra
by ghoda on Feb 15, 2008 03:11 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

thats what is happening in maharashtra now, reason - to gain political mileage, creating vote bank.

Politicians have continuously teird to divide the greater community for their personal gains. This is not wise and is leading to a failure for everyone in this country. Its call of the time that the broader you think..the more you get.

We desperately need leaders who try to bind whole india rather than dividing it, and see the whole nation as thier playfield.

A perfect recipe for India's Balkanisation
by QnABoss on Feb 15, 2008 03:08 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

You started the fire sir with your "Garv se kaho hum Hindu hai". All the while conveniently forgetting that you were letting lose a Frankenstein's Monster. Where do you stop? Jai Maharashtra, Jai UP, Jai Bihar and Jai what not. Why lamenting now when somebody else is making use of regional identity to strengthen his political base. All's fair in war and politics, isn't it?
We all know how Yugoslavia got embroiled in the sinister ethnic cleansing way back in the 90s. Even you and the likes of the VHP, bajrang Dal tried it: albeit, by butchering Muslims. Then it was 'they' vs 'us'. Today that 'us' is sub-divided based on caste (as you pointed it yourself), regions, sub-regions. The story goes on.
You and your fascist hordes supported the systematic cleansing of Muslims in Gujarat. Today, it's the turn of the Marathas to do the same with the UPites. This is the bane of Indian society today.
Remember, and I think you will since it was not in the distant past, what happened to Pakistan in 1971.
You can't divide and rule but when you do you are successful for a while and bask in that glory -- like Mr Narendra Modi is doing currently -- but the long term repercussions are for all to see. I am sure if the state of the situation continues like this very soon we will have a CKP fighting a maratha, a maratha fighting a goldsmith (marathas thinks that goldsmiths --sonars-- are OBCs and hence should be lookde down upon. Though this might be a sweeping statement but considering what'

Can you please confirm that India is a Secular Country? If so, right after Independence, people of all languages, regions, castes are all subject to the same Civil Code? Also all the States in India enjoy the same privileges? If it is not so, how can you say that genuine secularists (whom you call Hindutwavadi) are responsible for this situation?

Right Shyam. Your point is taken. Even the Kashmiri Hindus had to face the brunt of majority ire in Kashmir. Pseudo-secularists like me do conveniently forget such facts.
All said and done, the ethnic cleansing of Kashmiri Hindus must also be highlighted. My apologies. The point here is irrespective of regional, religious, caste-based, ethnicity-based identities such incidents are a perfect recipe for India's Balkanisation -- even the ethnic cleansing of Kashmiri Hindus as you have mentioned.

Political jokers
by Cubeblogger on Feb 15, 2008 03:08 PM  Permalink

A bunch of political jokers wanted publicity and created such a chaos. Sometimes it is good to realise what sort of mentalities these so call people have who want to be leaders in India. The MNS chief who created this mess has won fewer seats in the previous elections and the SP is desparately trying to grab a share of votebank in Maharashtra's political space. This is how is the average tax payer is being cheated and the poor is being fooled. The only solution to this is vote these guys out the next time we go to elections. This will definitely teach these cheaters a good lesson. So wherever you are, when it is time for the next elections, go back to your voting location anyhow and vote these pseudo well wishers of Indians.

Mr. Tarun change urself first - Be an Indian not only Hindu or anything else

Though I appreciate your article on the basis of reginalism. But you have not mentioned only Indian here, just check your line - "Being an infiltrator doesn't bother anyone, but North Indians in Mumbai, mostly Hindus, have to be targeted for vote bank politics" you are differentiating people on the name of Hindu or Muslim, there is no need of mentioning it here, but you RSS people apni auqaat pe aa hi jaate hain. First of all be an Indian man & correct yourself first then say something.Yeh regionalism, religionalism aap jaise logon ki hi paidaish hai.

Why this dicrimination by Govt.
by Jitesh Kumar Agrawal on Feb 15, 2008 03:03 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

How is Kashmir or North East not a matter of National Integeration....why should I be restricted for movement anywhere within India or my constitutional rights taken away for buying land or marrying in certain states. Why do a need a kind of visa to travel to north east...so is the central govt not contradicting itself by having this rule and saying all of the states are integral part of India be it kashmir, arunachal or nagaland for that matter.

Now, next movement for few marathis and thakre supporters will be that sub-urban people can not come to downtown for living or for work. Unnecessarily they trains are full to commute to churchgate, nariman point and fort area. Virar people should work in Virar only, Thane people work in Thane only...No need to pile up the traffic in Mumbai. ...No hight of cheapness..
