by yogi goli on Feb 17, 2008 03:32 AM  Permalink

I think the whole responsibility of state govt. In such a cases they should call SENA to avoid such a problem. Police will always support locals maharashtrians. Vilasrao should think and before happening this situation should call SENA.

Just a clarification.

I do not mean any disrespect to any Marathi brothers and have great respect to ancient Marathi leaders. But just wanted to point out how rotten the modern day leader are.

being indian not enough...
by vishal on Feb 17, 2008 03:12 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I think people got it all wrong. Raj is not a good leader any way as he couldn%u2019t convey his real message to people. He wanted to drive out lawless Bhaiyyas. But he wrongly addressed them as North Indians. Then Abu hazmi did mistake by saying that he will distribute Lathis to all north Indians to protect some law less Bhaiyyas.
And who is doing regionalism? Raj or UP leaders? Why do they need to celebrate UP day in Maharashtra? Don%u2019t they have Indian independence day to celebrate anywhere they want? And even if they want to celebrate it why they cant ask maharastrian leders as chief guest for this event(As it is done in America while celebrating Indian Independence day).. Why do they need to celebrate Chat puja as unity of UPians? Instead they should celebrate it as unity between Indians (As Lokmanya Tilak did it for Ganeshustava, well todays leaders can%u2019t be compared with lokmanya though). "Some north Indian who are shouting here...can you answer these questions?

Agreed, these UP politicians should be blamed equally.

Yes why UP day in Maharashtra? May be because they are not allowed to celebrate that in UP.

Lot of us share same feeling
by aakasah verma on Feb 17, 2008 02:43 AM  Permalink

Nice to see same sentiment from a fellow Indian..may be u come across a similar fwd mail which I wrote few days back. It was about how Indians suffer in Bangalore and elsewhere.

Sad that minor crimes like slapping some poor Indian from North is not a cause of concern but that leave a scar for lifetime in victims heart.State and Union Govt. is reluctant to punish TRAITORS like Raj Thakery, Vatal Nagaraj (MLA Karnataka, Sidharamaiya (ex-Deputy CM Karnataka) and many other who is working hard to break Indian Union.

Think about the situation when continuously humiliated Indians from North start thinking regionalist way.

Don't make Indians suffer otherwise if they become regionalist like you then can defeat any regional force by power which you are trying to display.

Hope people realise the fact the Mumbai, Bangalore or any other place for that matter is not made by local efforts but by the money, labour and knowledge of entire India. This is the fact that Mumbai people can't make the BSE run or Bangalore/Karanataka can't create institutions like ISRO, IISc, HAL,NAL, IIM and many more. All these fundamental of development of these cities are created by India and Indians. So pls stop it and try becoming a proper Indian rather a traitor.

Jai Hind

Aakaashh Vermha

Intellectuals let down Sangh Parivar
by MS on Feb 17, 2008 02:27 AM  Permalink

Agree with them or not, the Left has a healthy intellectual debate. They discuss real issues sincerely. The Sangh parivar is blessed to have excellent cadres but their intellectuals emit too much gas but almost always scoot and escape from real issues. Never have I read Tarun Vijay dwell on real issues. He is always hiding or evading. The only thing he does consistently is to blame Congress and Marxists.

Who belongs to India?
by Antro Peter on Feb 17, 2008 02:00 AM  Permalink

Good article, but there are many thoughts which I disagree with the author, if being Maratha spoils the integrity of the country so does being an hindu, muslim, sikh or christian or whatever religion they belong to.

It is very unfortunate that not even a single government in the past 50 plus years took effort to unite India as a single nation. Every state gave importance to their own people and were worried about just their next election.

There should not be any organization which are affiliated to a caste or religion, which includes RSS, VHP, Muslim, Sikh and Christian party. As long as we carry the religion and caste identity with us we can never be Indians, we may say to the outside world that we are Indians but whenever someone criticize about our caste, state, language or religion we lose our Indian identity.

While we all blame it on our ancestors on why they have created so many castes and divisions etc, but we never take steps to fix it.

Unless we give priority to our country before our caste, religion, state or community such conflicts will keep on continuing. All the politicians will make misuse of it and gain some political advantage, this is exactly Raj Thackery is doing. How about the Maharashtrians who make money abroad including USA, UK and other parts of north and south India?? Should they be targetted for sending their hard-earned money back to Maharashtra??
I have not seen any absurd politics as this and unfortunately the people and media are with them.
