Stress
by PSV on Feb 15, 2008 12:15 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Let us remember there is 24 hours. If you want to be healthy physically as well as well as mentally you need to allocate sometime from this 24 hours. IF you say THER IS NO TIME. he or she is fooling himself.
Regarding spending you should always live below your means. If you expand your expenditure along with your income you will end up paying more EMIs not saving.
Stress is nothing if you can mange it. Remeber we are living for ourself not for others

The real stress in IT sector is due to its Managers. This people wont let the poor developers, call center agents and software people live in peace and lead a normal lives. These Managers are always trying to please the whites and americans by torturing these poor executives whom come from middle class families and try to meet the ends meet. These managers and HR managers and HR girls need to be tought a lesson and then the stress in IT sector will come down very much. The real problem is this foolish asst.managers , project managers and VP and CEOs who make life living hell.

plan accordingly
by delguy on Feb 15, 2008 12:02 PM  Permalink

India is a country that waits for things to happen, No city has been planned to face any kind of uncertainities. Bangalore boomed not because India put efforts and show the world that this is the resourceful city but because the companies came by itself, so no planning. Its all mess everywhere.

Smile I think you need to read Pranab's comment carefully. Pranab is right in pointing out that all the traffic in Bangalore is chaotic. And you will find so many Bikers riding bike on pavements instead of roads. In Delhi, the blueline busses kill people walking on road and not on pavements. So please get your concepts right before you think about throwing anyone ou of the city

So Sanjeev, pl tell me which city is there in India, which is not chaotic with such a huge population and has excellent roads without much traffic. bangalore was an excellent city to live 10years back. But with the advent of IT,lot of outsiders from all over india have settled here.when the population is increased obviously bangalore has turned into chaotic place. There is nothing extraordinary in that.
And pl dont think that my mentality is that of MNS who do not want outsiders in bangalore. IF everone has contributed to bangalore's growth, they have also contributed to all the negative aspects..pollution,traffic, garbage or whatever ppl have mentioned here.
So pls stop cribbing abt bangalore..and think what u as as individual can contribute to the development of Bangalore when u r earning ur bread and butter here.

Your name shud be CRY.. not SMILE.. what Pranab say is right.. most of the problem is due to 2-wheelers and Autos.. ofcourse the infrastructure is worst.. I am from Bangalore, but I hate the situation now.. 4 year back it was better.. passing one signal in Koramangala cost you 20 minutes.. just imagine.. I guess the situation can not be improved.. Bangalore will loose FDIs and IT/BT companies..

Smile, I totally agree with you.

There are a lot of positive things happening in Bangalore. If media portrays things a bit more positively, it would make the readers also think positive.

I want to know: Isn't there ONE good NGO that is doing a good service in Bangalore?

Why not publish that? Chumma, defaming Bangalore and its infrastructure.

When there is no Government, who will take care of the infrastructure? We need to have some patience. We cannot expect to have roads like US overnight....

Remember US got its independence more than 300-years ago. We are a young nation of 60-years...

It takes time yaar!!!

I agree dude. If you do not find better infra- structure in Bangalore then where else in India do you find that. Patna, Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Chennai, Kolkata, Bhubaneshwar, where else? I have seen almost whole country and in terms of raad traffic and trabsport system (considering the local bus transport) Bangalore and Hyderabad are far better than all other cities. The only thing that matters, is the way we look at them. For Eg, in Mumbai, where the local people claim to have best infrastructure in entire country, more than 50% of the city roads are made by Paver blocks (the ones which are used in Bangalore for pedestrain footpaths.

are you happy staying in bangalore?
do u find roads are empty to commute in bangalore?
do u find prices of vegetables and food very cheap there?
If your answer is no for any one of them, that means, the infrastructure is bad....

Dear Vicky Nanjappa, based on your statement: "35 in every 100,000 (one lakh) in Bangalore commit suicide"

Let us do some simple math:

35 per every 100,000. For 10,00,000 (One million) people, it is 350-people committing suicide.

Assuming Bangalore's population is 70,00,000 (70 Lakh / 7 million), that is 350 *7 = 2450 people.

Which means: 2450 / 70,00,000 = 0.00035 or approximately: 0.035% of suicides.

It is not even ONE whole person for God's sake.

and your Headline screams: "Bangalore is the SUICIDE capital of India"...

Just to grab some eyeballs... It is nothing but a cheap marketing gimmick...

Vicky Nanjappa, you call yourself a reporter... Get a life man or please enroll your name in the list of 35-people and be a part of this interesting statistic.

Thats 0.035% of the total population of Bangalore committing suicide which is a huge number... I don t think any other city in india has that large a number of suicides (as % of its total population)... What did u expect?? 10% of the pouplation to commit suicide u retard...??... Before u post see some statistics and find out which city has a higher % of its population commiting suiicde?

Probably its mathematically insignificant but even one death due to stress is a bad sign and needs to be highlighted . Without looking athe total population, if you ake only the IT/BPO population its 2450 from about 10 lakh or so , so its a high number..

I am totally against Suicides and I totally agree with the pain a family has to go through after someone commits suicide.

I was only pointing at the cheap marketing gimmick that Rediff employs sometimes to grab our attention.

I mean, the article could have been more structured - a comparision with other metros in India and the growing cities in the World.

When the reporter has got the information from National Crime records bureau, I am sure they do not capture ONLY Bangalore's data...

What, have you reduced human life value to simple numbers. Whether it is 0.035% or even lesser than that. Even if one person is dies due to such external conditions, it is a cause of concern and somebody needs to sit up an notice. Please think about attaching some better value to human life than reducing it to mere numbers as if it was nothing but cattle.
