That's all fine buddy. But the problem he mentioned is genuine - there DOES seem to be a geographic angle (in general at least) to this Indian attitude-problem with laws. I would say even the West is generally tolerable, but can't say the same thing for the North. Try standing in a queue in a railway station up north.

But different part of India is quite different so far culture is concerned. We should develop a national culture instead promoting regional culture.
If the laws of the country itself are so bad, illogical, oppressive and corruption-promoting, then there is no alternative for ordinary people like us..
For example, you cannot take your vehicle from one state to another in India without permissions, NOCs, and faaltu ke RTO ke documents and bribery.
1. It took me more documents, forms to fill and hassles to get my vehicle re-registered than getting a passport!! 2. Spending Rs 3000-5000 to re-register a 8-year old second hand vehicle that would not even fetch 15000 if I sell it. Nonsensical ! 3. In Europe, you can buy a vehicle in France and drive it across the country or even across borders without NOCs and RTO permits. You can buy a car in Hamburg and drive it anywhere in Germany (Frankfurt or Dresden) legally without NOCs and RTO permits and registration taxes or octroi. The world is simplifying processes and scrapping redundant laws, while our hare-brained politicians continue to amend old ones with more and more clauses and create borders even between the states of India.

my point is that the laws itself are so difficult to follow... that you become a lawbreaker automatically even if you dont want to.

well is getting a ticket for travelling in train such a bad law? Im not saying all north but recently TTRs in southern railway had tough time in dealing with passengers from west and north india with most of them boldly saying who will take tickets while travelling... im not telling this just check old news papers...

I feel bad for the experience you had tomcat. But that's the reality of our country.

we indians are emotional... we get into all these issues very fast... politicians have been using such issues for vote banks... inspite of education, working in multinationals still we succumb to politicians plan.... if everything becomes smooth then there will be no issue for politicians

Seems like Mr Khanna has never been anywhere else other that Delhi, Punjab, Haryana and Western UP. He should have met only Mr Karunanidhi and Devegowda to change his mind.
