He was the NOVEL human character in of this era. I had an oppertunity to be at his ashram at Noida, during Dec.1985 and learnt TM by Dr. G Mohapatra. Oh!it was a great experience. I have practised it and could cool down my mental agony and anger. So great a human he was.I worship GOD the destiny to give birth such atmas for upliftment of the society. "OM JAI GURUDEV".

Freedom with proper "Self" and universal responsibility and some common-sense in keeping one's focus into life affirmative values is enough religion for all.

that was a rumor. Nor did Yogi had any history of rapes. In anycase, once a person passed away it is better to say few good things about him instead of talking about your missionary type agenda

Google Maharishi Mahesh Yogi and Beatles, and read for your self the one with the heading Beatles in India.
When you know the truth, the truth will set you free. All roads do not lead to Rome in reality. Likewise, all religions cannot be true, there is only one way to heaven and there are no second chances. Since God is true and living, ask Him to talk to you. If you seek Him earnestly He will talk to you for He is love. One thing is for sure, you cannot earn your way into eternity.

Michelangelo, said, the problem with people is not that, they aim high and are not able to reach it, but that they aim low and are ale to reach it. This spirit and the Greek philosophy of science, technology, senate, republic brought a renaissance in Europe and the Western world and changed their lives forever. Common sense about exceling in life is religion. But as Voltaire said, common sense is not that common. Distortions always lead to confusion. Stagnation in culture, lack of propagation of correct ideas, leads to mental and physical corruption. But the original concepts are still correct. God is nowhere, Life is now and here. Evolve and Get A Life. Excel is something or many things and break free of your own prison of misery and mediocrity.

Mr.Confused Mind, learn to talk in a way an average Joe would understand, are you planning to be another Sri Sri something? I just said, if you want to know God seek after the only true God, if He is true, He will surely talk to you. What you did not understand? Also, I am not asking you do what I say, but for those who would like to seek and know the truth.

Freedom with proper "Self" and universal responsibility and some common-sense in keeping one's focus into life affirmative values is enough religion for all. You will notice that only mediocre and confused people talk all the time about God. Which is basically an escapist idea and hiding their own incompetency. That is why you see all developed countries in the world are 'secular' to keep these religious people on the fringes, and excel in life, sports & work.
If you are parava tamil christain ,go through the wiki how the paravas converted and why.Paravas the educated caste of fishermen involved in navigation, pearl traders were very rich plus educated, the whole community dedided to convert since they had little option, because they were constantly harrased by muslims and were made their slaves, who took their right to trade. The protugese who where good at sea trade with the armed shipes ,gave them a helping hand only after they took christainity and paid a heavy duty to them, which further increased their converts to christainity by money.
Also go through christain websites about mangalorean christains and goan christain how they were christainised, these recoreds are maintained by not only the tortuced brahmins but also the catholic priests to turtorced them.
You are being fooled to beleive that all non-brahmin caste were illeterate and all christains were non-brahmins victims of caste system, which is a total lie.

Idols are Ideals of Life ... People are confused and Priests make business by making people worship and so do the same in all other religions as well whether you worship a cross or nothing ... Read Upanishads and Buddhism and compare the same with the constitution of america and also do research to find out why renaissance happened in Europe and why all Western countries became secular..

Thanks for the Summary. Appreciate that. I also recommend people including Cape to read 'An Autobiography of a Yogi'.
My Salutes to the Great spiritual guru. He has done his part to bring peace onto earth. Unfortunately evil forces are stronger. The World expects everyone to turn into Swami Maharishi Mahesh Yogi so that there is endless peace and prosperity on Earth. Also more Sadhus are required to stay put in India instead of going abroad for better prospects. Only Sadhu who came to India from abroad is Mahatma Gandhi giving up his green pastures and livelihood for sake of country- K.S.Balajee, Chartered Accountant
Nobody has been able to give me a convincing answer to the following question:
There are more than 2000 religions the world over and some of them have hundreds of sects. Each religion has its own god/gods. Every one is sure that the god/gods of other religions are false. Then what makes the believers think that the god of their religion only is true????
I would request all the believers not to try to impose their faith on others. If it is suitable to for you, practice it. No quarrels. Atleast do not harbour any hatred for the followers of other religions!

Apart from the fact that you've raised a Q on religion which has nothing to do with this news; you've also asked a very impertinent Q. Who says all believers think other gods are untrue? Many religions in India (hindu, buddhism, jainism...) talk only about their own beliefs and believe in 'live & let live'. You are asking a loaded Q and are way out of context here. Go to some other forum where it is appropriate, moron.

Fab Reens, what makes you think others are "morons" Btw the Buddhists do not believe in any God. They believe in Karma theory.
And the followers of Semitc Religions believe that only their "God" is true. Pl go thru various messages on this discussion Board itself. All these discussion about religions started with one Christian cliaming that only their god is true!!!!!!!!!!!

I guess Hinduism believes in plurality. Hiduism believe in One god for entire living being. That is god is same whether you call him as Jesus, Rama, Krishna, or Allah. Hinduism never believed in conversion. When there is one true god for entire living being then where is the question of saying other religion or god is not true? Hinduism says it doesn't matter what religion you follow as long as you truely seek god he will take care of you.
One may say that there are fundamentalist in Hinduism who dont believe in other religion. Fundamentalists are in every religion. Though their proportion may vary.
There is Maharshi Mahesh Yogi and there is Sri Sri Ravishankar and other Gurus. All of them thought others about meditation. But never converted them to Hinduism. They never said followers has to chant Oum or Rama or Krishna. They said they can chant Amen, Amin, Jesus or Allah and meditate upon the form of God (Jesus, Allah etc) they fell in love.

all the religions are just an attempt to understand what people call as god...
all religions are true in the sense its searches for the Ultimate truth and reality...
no one has completly understood the infinite, hinduism in itself is an umberlla religion, which has various view on the infinite
it even says you(soul not body) is the infinite ultimate truth..
