There is a limit to how many people Mumbai or Maharashtra can accommodate. No doubt about that. Certainly these places cannot accommodate all of Bihar and UP and the question is why should they ?? Has anybody thought about this ?? It is high time that we the people of this country decide on this issue which has serious implications on all areas that affect quality of life. Raj Thakerey's protest against UP and Bihars (not all Northies as media says) is the first step in that direction. So why should Raj be blamed ?? When DMK supports LTTE why is there no concern about regionalism ?? When Akalis install the portrait of Gernail Singh Bhindrawale in Dam Dami Taksal (who wanted to break up India) why was there chilly silence among the desh Bhakts ?? When Bengalis openly rioted to protest against exclusion of Saurabh Ganguly from Indian Cricket team where were the media that cries foul against regionalism?? When Biharis were slaughtered in Assam why was media silent?? Where was all the love for biharis then ?? The truth is people from UP and Bihar have swamped the states like Delhi, Orissa, Assam, Maharashtra and Rajasthan. Wherever they go they start behaving like they are in Azamgarh or Siwan. They do not respect the culture in which they go. Raj Thakeray's fight is against those who want to convert maharahstra into azamgarh or Siwan. This fight is not for jobs or resources but to maintain local culture and avoid lawlessness of UP and bihar.

(CONTD...) Lalu and Amarshing should drown in chulu bhar pani because it is their failure that people from UP and BIhar are flocking to other states. What have they done to improve the situation in UP and Bihar?? Before commenting on what is right and wrong these leaders should get out of their AC cars and mix with common people instead of partying with bollywood celebrities. Just ask what the people of Orrisa, Delhi, Assam, and Rajasthan think about people from UP and Bihar and you will know why the Raj Thakeray got so much support in Maharashtra . As for Abu Azmi, he is ISI agent and a traitor. He incited muslim mob in mumbai to riot which directly lead to death of two policemen last year. People will not forget nor forgive traitor Abu Azmi.
Mumbai has not been made by Marathis. It is the numerous North Indians who settled in and invested in Mumbai and made it the financial capital of India. Besides, who would care for Mumbai if it wasn't for the Hindi film industry. Marathis should be thankful to the North Indians for, they have enjoyed the fruits of the Hindi film industry, when Marathi culture and language is far removed from the North Indians. If today, the Hindi film industry is taken to Noida in the north, where would Marathis be. In fact, it is due to the Hindi film industry that Marathi culture too has got some representation nationally. In fact, Mumbai should be made into a Union Territory, because there is very little Marathi about Mumbai. Except that they have migrated from their villages and small towns in great numbers and create unnecessary disturbances for the others.

Bihar and Uttarpradesh have more numder of parliamentary seats than any other two states combined together in India. Migration of North Indian people to Mumbai is due to get their food to live and not to act any films as claimed. Instead of coming to Mumbai, they can demand their leaders that more industries be established in their respective states thereby all the Son of the soil get their job there and there will be no necessity for migration to Mumbai.
when you migrate to any place you should be in postion to get a shelter atlest on rent if not owned. If you start living on streets and after some time claim the legistimate reight which is not in the interest of any State. One can notice the health situation in Mumbai where North Indians are thickly populated.
In my opinion, North Indian would have behaved in the same manner as of the people of Assam and Mahareshtra if their states are well deveolped like Mumbai where people from other state start migrating.
Biharis and UP Bhaiyyas have no place to be in Maharashtra. They are a burden on the already stretched amenities in Mumbai and other cities. It is high time Mahrashtra and Gujarat get autonomy so that outsiders do not grab the rights of son of soil. Or it wont be long before situation looks similar to what we have in Assam and North East ( thanks to the influx of Bangalis there). Bhaiyya Lokaana Heploon Kadhha !!

What right do you have the stop these trains? Lets live peacefully
So many less-knowledgable and under-privileged Marathis are there in every part of the world. And not only Mararthis, the whole world is full of ignorant people. Should they be chased back to their respective towns. All the citizens are free to settle anywhere. VASUDHAIVA KUTUMBAKAM!!! (THE WHOLE WORLD IS ONE FAMILY). In past, I have lived in Mumbai for years and it is true that Mumbai is not able to cope up the pressures, but this is situation in all the Metros. But it is sacrifice of many that they choose to live in abject poverty and lack of any infrastructure. If these people from UP and Bihar are not there then Mumbai will sink economically in a day. Many of the great Marathi intellectuals accept this theory that this is the result of passionate and hard-working BHAIYAS that Mumbai is the lamp post of the country. And you want to throw them out. Can you throw out Amitabh Bachchan out of Mumbai? Or can you smash Dharmendra of Punjab or throw out Narayan Murthy of Karnatka from India. All world is yours if you can enlarge your vision. Otherwise the humanity will continue to suffer. Chetan Upadhyaya, e-mail: nadarchan@rediffmail.com
