Well, i am an engineer in a very big indian company and do recruitment interviews on a regular basis. Going forth, i will ensure that Bihari guys are rejected immediately and also circulate this piece of news across the organization (which is there in 10 states in india) so that nobody takes a bihari again here.

Dear Mr. Narayan, I only wish you could have exercised some degree of restraint before making such an authoritative and irrelevent statement against the entire Bihari community on the basis of this unfortunate incident. As a hard core Bihari and a management professional, I am really taken aback and very ashamed of what has happened. But at the same time, I am not going to be biased or pessimistic against Biharis. Regards, Ranjan

lol..:D but again not all biharis are like this. some of them might be very bright but the conditions in the state compel them to go with the flow so what can they do. I suggest whenever you interview any bihari, luk at the credentials and talents along with the marks and grades. you never know they actually might be against the society and the stupidness we read abt in the above article.

I am a CEO of a company. I will never hire a personnel with a name Narayan who relies on general perception and obviously has no abilities to rather find out real potentials/credentials through interviews.

I think people like Narayan should be immediately sacked from the organisation and at the least should not be allowed to take interviews. He should be allowed to grow up first and should be tought how to recognise the potential of someone through interviews and then only should be allowed to take interviews. I have heard from lot of our off-shore clients saying that the Quality of indian products are not good. How can that be if in the System people are Narayan is there ?

See, people has so much of a biased mentality. They read one piece of news and make a judgment about all. Well everybody knows cheating is rampant everywhere. If you are a good recruiter you can find out who is the right guy.
And if you want to settle for less than best than you are free to make such decisions. Coz there is no dearth of companies who are ready to take biharis for their hard work and intelligence.

Engineer passed out from a third grade college can have this kind of perception. Only a scared person can do like this. As you said you work for a big indian company, it only corraborate my observation that desi companies can not grow beyond a limit because of people like you in recruitment.

A third grade college of Andhra, TN or Karnataka and paying a huge money as donation. I know, Mr Narayan, you are going to get many times of back when you will marry. I know how much dowry you guys demand when you are engg and doctors. Do not blame biharis, they are far better than you guys in terms of talent and other thing. You guys do not even know how to dress up. I have seen guys like you coming to office in chappals even though you earn in lakhs.

Cheating is rampant in all examination across India. That no one can deny. Because, I study in one of the most premier institute of India (actually the Institute of National Importance) and people cheat in exam here also.
The positive side that you can see is that "administration is trying to ensure fairness".

the administration must have not received their share of bribe from the students....thats the reason they are taking revenge by ensuring fairness

I think you can imagine that situation because you have seen that in your state. That is administration is nicely bribed and nothing comes in news. And you live in a wonderful state.

Though the event is shocking, the fact that it is happening in Bihar is not surprising!
The attitude and action of the students shows that, no exam until now, in those colleges, have ever been conducted in a fair manner. If the students and their parents want to practise unfair means, why do they call it an 'exam' ? What do they aim to speacialize in ? 'Criminal' law?
The current state government should be greatly appreciated in decisively acting against this practise, and they should crush the students agitation with an iron hand, even if it means derailing their education and career.
While this is the state of education in the country, I pity those elitists who argue that merit gets lost only due to reservation.
omg wth did i just read? students were not allowed to cheat in exams and so they created a rampage? well students from bihar, firstly you gotta get a life! what kind of system is this? wonder how they get jobs this way. and yes that is very unfair to people from the other parts of the country who study their hats off for these exams! why didnt the govt take action earlier when they knew such unfair practises were in fashion.well i guess all comes back to bribes and money. If these students are boycotting the xams well let them, who cares. They are wasting their own time by such stupid boycotts and stuff.
In democracy quantity is counted and not quality. Hence the future legal fraternity have adopted the democratic process. Public property is theirs, they may not be able to build but why not damage, whatever mighty contribution that they can do.
RE:UNFAIR MEANS IN EXAMS
by Hemant Kumar on Feb 03, 2008 10:47 AM Permalink
On the contrary, exams for "high profile Govt jobs" such as civil services are conducted very tight in Bihar; as the administration knows the possibilities of cheating. You will see battalions of police keeping vigil on the examinees. Believe me cheating in such exams is far easier in other states as the general perception is that (and you also think) people in the other states are honest like Raja Harishchandra.
I have studied in a very prestigeous college, where too, people from Bihar have joined based on their scores, most of whom can't even speak well.Adding to that, once,a bunch of them even ganged up and started weilding guns!In one big scoop, the management got rid of a whole host of them! There are many in IAS/IPS services all over, from BIMARU states.. hope they didn't get thru by such dubious means..if exams are a mere farce, the real studious and deserving are the losers.Yesterday I saw another news item that there is a huge protest over Govt ruling that the BC/SC/ST scholarships will be given only for those who score 60% in their school final.Goes to prove the backwardness of this country. Why doesn't India stake a claim that in Olympics 100 mtrs hurdle,Indian athletes will run only 40 meters for victory?or,BCCI throw their weight around and say,if the Aussies score 100 runs, India will be winner even if they touch 40 runs? The attitude of many Indians is substandard and wont augur well for the progress of this nation.Talk of us becomeing a super power!day dreams..
