Indian people should first learn to be more polite and learn some good manners. Unless they learn to form queues for city buses/trains and if they just continue their chaotic manners, such things are bound to happen. In cities like New York trains are very crowded too but people are really polite and never rush inside before people come out even if it means standing. Same with the buses. New Yorkers are supposed to be the rudest people in the US still they are 100000 times nicer and more polite than the crowd in India. Indians are very very good at personal relationships and they do care a lot about their family, but when it comes to public life, they lack trust/honesty/politeness.
Jammu region has been realy unfortunate in last 60 years. Because of anti-national stand of Kashmiri people and publicity and importance of Kashmir Problem world wide, the center government has always been adopting negelecting attitude towards Jammu region. What these Kashmiri Muslim Leaders do is, they grab all the funding they get from center for development, some of that is used for Kashmir's development and rest goes in their pocket. Nothing comes to the bucket of Jammu.
People of jammu region (Hindus)are treated as second class citizens in their own country just because they are not Muslims in a Muslim majority state. There is mass favouratism in Govt. jobs, Collage seats, Election Seats, Development budget etc. Most of the students of Jammu region have to leave their state for Jobs as all Jobs in Jammu and Kashmir are grabbed by Muslims.
It is high time for the people of country to wake up and give full support to the people of Jammu. In this Amarnath land controversy also, the land was initially given to Hindus but after the as usual un genuine demands and protest of Kashmiri Muslims B,A,S,T,A,R,D,S , the Govt of India panicked fearing the international attention to Kashmir Issue, once again did unjustice to Hindus.
So, all indians i appleal to give full support to people of Jammu, as this is not the battle only for people of Jammu, it is a battle for each and every Hindu world wide.
I have personally never been to such a crowded Mandir but being a sikh, I often see people in lacs in Golden Temple and other Gurdwaras and have never seen or heard such incident happening there. And, so far I know, I am sure there is nothing like such emergency plans in there. Surely, we need to learn from each others. This being another example. Ultimately, its the GOD people who are dying.

can you confirm here arshdeep ji, whether the golden mandir is govt controlled? all big mandirs are govt controlled. in my considered view the govt simply takes away the donated money and uses for non-mandir purposes instead of using some part of it in investing back into mandirs' upkeep. keep the govt out of mandirs.

I totally agree with u the crowd management at Golden temple is very good and even turnover time for pilgrims is very less. There is nobody to shout or push you. Following a model of Golden temple is the best for all shrines of the country

Same apply to Tirupati Venkateshwara mandir, where on an average 60000 people visit everyday. During festival times, numbers goes over 2-3 millions per day. All big mandirs need to create mechanisms to regulate the crowd. Once a mandir get regulated, then people gets used to it.
Mandir administration needs efficient management strategy to regulate visitors and emergency action-plan when people are in panick. What happened in HP is a failure of mandir administration. It is not about HP, it is all about most of our mandirs across the nation. This is not the first incident, and doubt the last. Visitors hardly realised the danger when they proceed with masses. It is the mandir administration and their security personals duty to regulate the flow and manage them. Else, the value of our life will remain as Rs 1 lakh after death. Do we want this?
Indians should have public manners,we are always used to do things the short cut and easy gain, that we are forgeting the manners in visiting temples and the basic manners and ettiquettes in visiting temple, we sould go a simple/humble/devoted/helpful/merciful/subservant/ and always should see that we do not spit/soil/pollute/waste/shout/boost/arrogant. we should be compatble to the aims and objects of the almighty. First thing is we should avoid all sort of superstitions/fake babas/misuse of faith/misuse of promises/and avoid all sort of MANATS. such persons are the ultimate devotees. Govts should only facilitate the good of the devottees.
It is observed that devotees should have basic manners, when they visit pilgimage as sober/magnanimity, and avoid all rush/pulls and when doing darshan, we should be allowing the fellow bhaktas to also gain the darshan is a greater, sacrifice, the way now we see temple boards filled with non devotees, or commercial attitude, like what we see in tirupati/shirdi/pardharpur/srinathji/kashi/and the hills of himalaya, in any melas, we should tke a lesson from our sikh brother of doing Kar seva and help devotees have the best of the lord, that is a greaer seva than having darshan. We should not be mixing superstition/Chamatkar in hindu faith, it is a time proven faith, so do not tamper the orignal faith propogated by Ved Vyas/sukdev and many faith theywere simple and devoted and their musle and thoughtwere greased by Gyana/Karma/Bhakti. once this is achived then the ultimate is achived, please do be misled by petty gains from demy gods and human exploitations.Titupati is now being governed by govt depts, having no knowledge about the preaching of the lord, all the govt officials flock for gains/fame, and think can gain blessings with money in hundis, or utilising the temple funds to govt use, it is a grave mistake and misuse, all the funds should be used for the faith and its facilities, but we now see politicians scamble for temple boards, they have not ven left the temples, the best way people and leader can visit temples is as ordinary devotee and not as VIP or VVIPS, such trea
As much as we blame the administration for the mismanagement, we should also ponder over the people who are responsible for creating a ruckus..It is us the people, who are in such a hurry each time we visit any such place, whether it is a temple or a rush to watch a film, we just want to take control and show the rest our running skills. It is us people who ar responsible to avoid any mishappenings. Instead of a hasty behavior if we do things patiently esp. in places like these, then no lives would ever be lost!!
However, my heart does go out for all the little kids who have lost their lives, just because the adults were not adults enough.

yup .. u r right .. v definitely need to impart some discipline among ourselves about forming queues at such public places... Civic sense ki thodi kami to hai hamare andar ... when I see people rolling their car windows and conveniently throwing polythenes and other trash on the road I feel like kicking them..

Oh come on ... don't blame govt for everything ... Govt is saying all this also - have only 2 children, marry the girl only after she is 18, don't spit on the roads, don't urinate on the roads, keep railways clean, follow lane discipline ... Do we follow all that? At least not all of us ... We need some tough rules to impart some civic sense in all of us ... Hum Bharat wasi thoda jyada hi enjoy kar rahe hain apni freedom

Talk some sense. Why blame others for fault of yours? Why not learn to discipline yourself and your fellow visitors, while visiting mandirs? Unless people become disciplined, no amount of management can help. Few days ago, I visited a mandir where about 2000 people ganthered. At one occassion, they ceated a stampade like situation and I was too stuck in between. People hardly follow any discipline and all they want to go first. This is the culture everywhere in our country.
