What if we had 300 million headcounts?
by Infidel Blogger on Aug 03, 2008 08:11 PM  Permalink

If India had the same population it had a year before independence, i hope we would have atleast valued human lives.
Look how non-Asian (except Japan and S.Korea) countries value human lives .

Deaths at Naina Devi temple
by MangeswaraSastryB on Aug 03, 2008 07:49 PM  Permalink

Basically the Indian attitude to life and death is one of indifference. We assume that death is unavoidable and it makes no difference where or when it occurs, as long as it is not 'we' who die.We never learn from history and ignore the past record in such matters. The so called ministers,MLAs or District Magistrates who rush to the scenes of tragedy could have very well ensured before hand that some basic precautions were taken. It is the notorious white collar attitude of our men and women that is the root of such tragedies because the men who take decisions and issue orders hardly ever bother to witness how the actual implementation is going on. They assume it below their status to actually go out into the field and see what goes on.Such calamities are bound to occur again and again.

whether temples or mosques or church and similar sites, it is time that right precautions are taken strongly by authoritis and also the pilgrims themselves. like in Mina there was a gas bottle blast and 400 were killed. similar things happen. This worship gets crazy and frenzy some times. I have yet to see a true Hindu,Muslim or Christians,we fight for our ego more than faith, but at least we can take care to avoid senseless life of loss.

A Kafir by default is guilty and is therefore it is a Muslim's duty to kill the guilty because he refused to become a believer when invited to do so.

who said that to kill any person whether it's muslim or Kaafir???
Whether he beleives in Islam or not?

Just give me any refernce?????

It's easy to spread communal violence and then to enjoy, as sadistic do so but to maintain harmony is a very tedious task!!!

Try to maintain harmony dear freind, if somebody does something wrong don't behave in the same way as that person!

Kafir by default is someone who do not accept Islam so every non-muslim is Kaafir and being a Kafir has nothing to do anything with killing or pardoning!
It's total crap propogated by "Superidiotist"

Why the government take initiative to built good infrastructure, widened roads which is leading the temple. It is known by them before there would be a large gathering, then there must be a good engineering estimate and built up, atleast now all the governments other than Himachal take measures, such like this never happen in another states, when there is the probability of large gathering of people.

Hindu temple funds are meant for spending for non-temple activities. That is secularism.

Rushing to the spot, offering condolences,
by Max on Aug 03, 2008 07:25 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

These are the most common responses in India to any calamity - whether it be bomb blasts, earthquakes, stampedes, etc. The press I believe must have ready made templates while reporting these incidents with blanks to fill in the number of dead or injured, location, and the names of policitians.

Everyone wil come and pay condolences, especially the leaders show more interest and show their curtesy and give a loud voice rather than showing help in building good infrastructure and having good helping hand in nation building and protecting people against these odd calamities.
