Good job done guys, Atleast now i can dream of no power cuts after 10 years from now
Kudos to MMS and SG for selling off our country to the Western world (Europe and US). This agreement means that Indian neuclear plants and reactors will be monitored by the West and India will not be able to perform any neuclear tests in future. The reactors will only be used for civil purposes like generating neuclear power.
A good step taken in the positive direction!! Hope the appreciation of the public will be reflected in votes.

Kudos to Mr. Dey and his ilk for their one sided perception!. It is ironical that when the debate for the agreement was to be conducted, the Left and opposition parties were harping only upon the importance of the issue of addressing inflation..as if the entire Govt. machinery would come together to resolve the matter!. And when historical opportunities such as the seeking conclusion of 1-2-3 Agreement exist for ending the long standing isolation of India as non-signatory to the NPT, the talk is about more nuclear tests!. It is indeed ironical that the so called educated class does not seem to give any thought regarding the necessity for conducting of more nuclear tests in an era where simulations and tests of trigerring devices could perhaps suffice and as to what should be the threshold of the nuclear arsenal that India should possess. Hence, is putting the civilian reactors under safeguards seling national interests?.Lol!. Could we leave governance to equally if not more partriotic National leaders, than spewing venom through forums such as this?.

Thanks for your comments. My intention was not to "spit venom" but to bring my view and if that is wrong then get it corrected. As you have correctly done. Thanks once again.

If a person can't spell "Nuclear" correctly it just shows how much he knows about the Indo - US Nuclear deal.

WHY DO YOU WANT TO DO NUCLEAR TESTS ? INDIAN SCIENTISTS CLAIMED THAT they can do those test on a supercomputer itself.

India does not sign the NPT because it's a stupid agreement. It says that since the 5 countries (China, US, Russia, France and UK) exploded nukes before 1962, they are authorized to have nuke weapons and other countries are not. It's very valid and based on principles. That being estabilished, the nuke deal is very important and glad that IAEA has given approval. There is still work to be done here though and it's a stretch goal!

If that is the thinking then I wonder why so many people died during the freedom struggle? Becuase India under the Brits was progressing more than it has done under the last 60 years ... Well that's another thing.. but anyways every body has agreed that MMS and SG has done a good job. So be it.

You are a total fool if you think India was progressing more during British. Do you know before British came, India was among the top two economies of the world? British took away India's money and sank the industry as much as they could..
India is inches away from breaking the long nuclear isolation.IAEA has cleared the agreement and now Indo-US Nuke deal is just a formality. The Trust Vote was infact a political consensus which was elusive for nearly three years. The debate not only revealed the true politician in Dr.MMSingh but also brought together all the secular forces under one platform. This vote has also exposed the hypocricy of some of the parties hanking on Muslims anger on the deal. Muslims in large numbers came out in support of the deal which was in national interest and exposed the fallacy behind the argument of the Left and BSP that the deal would anger Muslims in India because of their angst against US policies in Iraq,Afghan and Pakistan. The BJP relied too heavily on Left front and paid the price as the biggest dissidents came from that party. The debate in Parliament has exposed that BJP can stoop to any level to pull down the Govt. The whole drama enacted by BJP in Parliament ended in total disaster for them as UPA won the Trust vote handsomely. The chinks in the armoury of opposition was exposed by the UPA so much so that even the hardliners in the party were forced to support the Govt. The so called Third Front came a cropper as much as the BJP and Left combine.Left is left with no option but to hide its face with the third rated politicians in the so called third front.Next election would a watershed on the performance of the Govt and opposition bullying tactics.UPA is sure to win the next.

rediff is just a cheap site only focussing to make money. The generate money espacially by counting hits and selling ads spots. SO no wonder major national issues are neglected or even if they are reported, they are reported biased. This is all trick to get more hits. You should not wonder if in near future rediff starts a p r o n section just to get more hits.

Its a good sign that the most awaited Indo-Us nuclear bill is on its way to be implemented. The 35 member IAEA board of governors cleared India's specific safeguard agreement on 1st Aug.2008.Now every Indian has an eye on the verdict of 45 member Nuclear Suppliers Group(NSG).According to the commitment India will put a total of 14 reactors under IAEA safeguard under 66 type agreement which is applicable to all reactors by 2014 as six of them are already under IAEA supervision. No doubt it will good for our energy security and this is most urgent requirement to be fulfilled.
