I like some of the ideas mentioned by Ananthmurthy. Materialistic development on the lines of western countries, which play havoc with environment is useless. People's happiness is more important than development. Also people living in Karnatak must learn Kannada. As the saying goes, do in rome as the romans do.
However I did not understand his wish for reservation of jobs for muslims. Though he is against reservation in IT industries.

People who don't know the means for "holi (river)" and who don't have commone sense should not use this words.

well said pal.. u hv the moral courage to speak out yr mind frankly and say it like it is! these senile do gooders bring ruination at worst and intert paralysis at best .. they are a global nuisance down the ages.. they are the ones responsible for the cancer of reservations, other parasitical "affirmative actions"..and the ultimate weakening of the human race as a competetive species in mother nature's world!look at his cheek and hypocrisy ! no reservation for kannadiga laggards but so called voluntary enrolment of all outsiders in kannada medium schools! at the same time he says that people who leverage caste, language, region, religion etc should be banned! no mining and modern economic development but huge govt expenses and subsidies for "special" facilities for white elephants!wow! the first thing we shud do is ban senile old geriatrics from public life.. who have all entitlements but no accountabilities!
1. Ban On Mining - Will devoid North Karnataka people of their living- What is needed is a professional approach and a controlled environ for minig with restrictions on the quantity.
2.Child Education-Well the BJP has offered to educate girls till graduation for free and they should do the same to boys also.
3.Better infrastruture for the entire population agreeable.
4.Reservations for poor-Why? when you'll provide them with free quality education until graduation then why do you want reservations?DUMB and self-conflicting point.
5.Restrictions on Media-Yes they should be stopped so that people like you dont talk crap all the time.
6.Acquistition of agricultural land to be stopped-Yes but if it is necessary they should be renumerated adequately.
7.Right Price for the Produce-Central Govt has to take this up.
8.Malls to Small Shops- Bloody Communist.
9.Development Style-OK we will not use american style- how about UK style.

All places are doin the same.Isn't it? What happened in Mumbai few months back? The states which have developed well from other should accept the people from other state.First of all its India and not Mumbai or Karnataka.One have no right to stop others from doing his job.If instead of Mumbai, Patna have developed then did people from other parts come in search of job.We should make one thing compulsory and that is HINDI.And Terrorists are not only in Karnataka, Mumbai also have many.All over India its a problem now.

People living in a state should learn to speak the state language. It is not very difficult also, as there r many similarities in our languages. Though it would hv been easier, if the script was same, as suggested by Gandhiji.
Guys shame that such people exist and that too after receiving such prestigious awards like "Padma". But i understand these are frustrated bunch of people not able to digest the success of other state people in various departments. Instead of raising their own standards they are behind such sick ideologies!! Poor Udupi!! We need to take nback the awards given to him. People with such sick and narrow minds dont deserve for what they are. These are unhealthy signs!!
