one of the reason why jawans and Jco's are not getting their due is that service officers sitting on senior posts always cry for their on benefits and no one is interested in the welfare of ORs. Their point of is never taken up and there is no one to listen to the cries of their family and children. wake up Officers and put up a joint welfare demands.U can speak in an authoritative capacity retiring as generals/commanders/Marshals
The issues raised in the letter are very serious.Hence, it should be taken up in-depth and corrective measures taken up wherever necessary, without any delay.
The eneral's letter deserves due respect and consideration and should not be just put in cold storage. There cannot be any objection from the public for the higher salary and perks to be given to the members of armed forces.
One Pay Commission for every deapartment was of the past economy, now India is growing a superpower. Traditional one Pay Commissions is a reflection of poor economy.
If at all a traditional pay commission needed it should be for the employees of the Administrative Services only.
Other services such as Defense, Scientists, Railways, Postal, etc should not be included in the administrative. They should be independent separate of their own.
Otherwise no one Pay Commission can match the charasmatic.
Employees should be hired to serve in a department only after known the pay scale differences and agreed with.

Protecting the lives of our soldiers who are guarding our frontiers and the risky areas must be higher priority along with attractive pay scale. It is not just a Pay Commission issue. In addition to teaching all soldiers the Art of War ( at present certain officers only ) they must be equiped with the best and sophisticated weapons, communication sets on the lines of American and British. Night duty must be provided with night vision and movement sensitive equipments, star-war related the "GPS" (satellite equipment) must be developed to our topographical (but should not depend on the GOOGLE) to remain adjscent with our and enemy locations. Create Army Airwing starting with brigade level and provide heavy and medium lift Helicopters by which the efficiancy will be increased. Obtain the Art of War training from the major world countries.
Prepare every soldier a man of ready by body mind and the willingness to serve the nation and pay them up right above a Civilian Pay Commission report.
We have about 22 lakhs of ex-servicemen and they are a great support to servicemen and most exservicemen have at least a son or grandson in service, pay them better pension and benefits. Pay pension to all pensionless senior citizen exservicemen who served at least seven years.
There should be at least TWO (2) Member of the Parliament ( MP ) one from the Ex-Servicemen of officers, and the other from Persons Below Rank Officer.

As seen a public forum complaint on BUTMAN in the army I have a suggestion about BUTMAN service in the military.
Batman service in the military is an unwarranted tradition taken over from the British Indian Army. When an England born British Officer was appointed to unfamiliar Indian Territory serve in the British Indian Army, a butman servant, a sepoy, was assigned to help the officer.
Today in India one JCO one butman and one officer one butman we have over 100,000 butman which a HUGE WASTE OF MANPOWER supposed to be competent soldiers on duty and its expense. They are recruited for soldiering but not to be like a maid servant. Once a butman he became lazy to active soldering and lost their soldier mentality of abilities and the career.
The butman are today over the Manpower of an Army Command under a senior Lt General over 100,000. About 5% of the Army manpower is used as butman it is HUGE BIGGER NUMBER of soldiers supposed to be in the service of the core of soldier.
(Please note: Soldier strength in a Brigade 3000, Division 10000, Corps 30000, and Command 100000. Total soldiers taken now for BUDMAN service is more than the strength of a COMMAND). It is like a Cruel Fun in the system.
If at all BUDMAN service to be sustained, In order to reduce the butman wastage I suggest the following:
1. One butman for 10 JOCs. May be no butman to a JCO below age 45. (instead of one butman to One JCO currently )

CONTINUE/-
1. One butman for 10 JOCs. May be no butman for JCO below age 45 (instead of one butman to One JCO currently )
2. One butman for 3 officers up to Major. May be no butman for Officer below age 35 ( instead of one butman to one officer )
3. One butman for officer above Colonel, as is now.
It is also highly advisable to start a separate service: BUDMAN: like of NCE (Non-Competent Employee) from locals that they shall not move or travel with the units. Serving as Butman should not be eligible for soldier benefits.
At any rate, I think it a cruel fun, HUGE waste keeping over 100,000 butman and I do not think, any way, butman is not at all needed up to rank Major. ( OR EQUALLENT OF MAJOR IN THE NAVY & AIRFORCE )

A wonder !! if such "Great" ideas and innovations are a result of atleast serving one posting in field areas, forget the "high altitude/counter insugency/etc"". And if, which I know is not the case, may I decently request him to keep shut. BTW I know other ways to say that also ... LOL
