BJP has promised free power only to farmers with a certain kind of pumpset. One should also look at all the points in the BJP manifesto and compare it to other parties (read what the BSP says) before giving gaalis. But then some people just want to give gaalis to BJP!!
BJP could catch power, automatically lose their power. BJP offered wheat for Rs. 5 and Dal for Rs. 10 in Punjab. Liars are everywhere. Jungle thieves are everywhere!!! Vote after lengthy thought... We have to bear long five years.
Congress promises free colour TV sets. BJP free power to farmers Some others free education till college. Court should take note of this and dismiss the government that does not fulfill the promise given to the electorate. If promises are not kept, the elected government has no moral authority to stay in power.
Even though TN Government kept the promise patially, it is not fully kept.
Likewise there should be a law which prohibts Government both Central and State to waive off huge amounts like Rs.60000 Crore loan waived off by UPA. The UPA Government is not paying the amount from the party fund. It is the tax payers money which is being so carelessly used. If UPA does not come to power-in all probability it is doubtful due to inflation- the next Government has to bear the burgden.
BJP often lists the mistakes of Congress in the last 50 years I guess if BJP is in power for next 50 years they will commit the exact same mistakes... Political parties are no different when it comes to grabbing power.
It is always BJP that claimed to be a party with a difference... so if they do the same things that other parties do where is the difference? Bottomline is when a party wants power they will resort to any kind of dirty tactics BJP is no different.
This is unfortunate but BJP is the only alternative, if Congress can play populist card, why not BJP though BJP should concentrate on governance just like Narendra Modi did - No free power in Gujarat but still he won

Modi not only said no free power but he has ensured 24 hrs supply and I was surprised to know GSEB (Gujarat State Ele. Board) is now running profitabily. As you said BJP is an alternative but we need more leaders like Modiji.

BJP is an extreme rightwing communal party, it is far more dangerous than the terrorists in the country. This judgment was given by a Supreme Court, while ordering reinvestigation on the Post Godhra communal violence in Gujarat.
If BJP starts thinking about the conequencies of the maniefesto then they will not come to power abd the power will go to COng or JDs which is worst than fullfilling the promises of BJP maniefesto. hence It is better to provide facilities to poor and needy and stop Cong and JDs from getting into power

Dear Tabbu, we lived in a fake world when BJP was ruling and atleast had 2 good meals. Now look at your REALISTIC Cong. rule and check the prices of groceries at your nearest shop!! I hope you do eat for living or singing Rahul Nama makes your stomach full!!
Once the Free power is given Bangalore ( which is already suffering from power cut) is going to have a tuff time for just getting vote for power hungry BJP. Bangaloreians Beware
Free power, rice at Rs. 2 per kilo, reservation quota in education and jobs... such politics of "making something available, to someone for free", provided they give vote to the party - is a worst form of politics. Such policies imply ideological bankruptcies of the concerned parties. Till now Sonia's Congress and Tamilnadu's DMK/AIDMK were leading such politics. Now it seems BJP also has lost its senses. Before declaring such policies they must think about the consequences and how such things can affect the people and be funded. India will remain an underdeveloped country until such idiotic policies stop.

Also to add, no one value things which comes free. Which means the power will be wasted and not used appropriately. Subsidize is a better form rather then free !
They will promise anything for the sake of power. Right now there is a power cut and some times at the mid of the night. You loose sleep not only because it is hot but also mosquitoes
