Arun Gawli (erstwhile Gangster???) was extorting money until he became MLA... once he has become MLA, it is not extortion..he is simply doing his job like other MLAs and MPs, Ministers etc. he cannot be arrested or convicted in the name of extortion....elected representatives have the mandate to do such things and they do it very well..
What is this Gawli doing in politics. Its a shame to our country that we still have this kind of bas*ta*ds in our constituency. Well this fellow must have been encountered. If law allows this kind of person to breathe freely in our country, then crime will reach to peak. Shame on Indian police system that they are still unable to put this man down forever.
Without anyone contributing to his kitty, Gawli repaire many houses in his constituency. No one will dare to disturb the peace and tranquility of Dagdi chawl. No police officials takes bribe in his constituency. Any request for repair of roads, buildings are sanctioned immediaely by top most bureaucrat. What else is required to make the police officials feel jealous of him. This arrest is an outcome of this jealousy.
Gawli himself has told umpteen times, that he will be killed in an encounter, as police were trying to control him every now and then. Is these police without any blemish. What about Chaturvedi's case where the senior police officail framed a prominent builder on behest of another builder.

It is the sorry state of affairs in india that the people's representatives in parliament, or states, are either goondas, rapists, extornonists, frauds, or facing other criminal charges including muders. With this kind of democracy, how we hope to become a super power. Either we shoiuld become democracy like western countries or totalitarian regime like China. Then only we can dream of becoming one.

Everybody wants to blame the government and the country, but no one will dare or get committed to be a part of the system. Those people can only become critics and not the leader who have the vision to change the fure of the country. Please be sitted at home and go on blaming some or the other person.
