Hi Lotu, Prophet Mohammed (Peace Be Upon Him) is a human being just like any other man but was chosen by Allah (swt) to be the last messenger for the humanity. "Peace be upon him" is a general greeting in Islam whereby when one person meets another person we say "assalamu alaikkum" which means peace and blessings (of God almighty) be upon you. I cant think of any other greeting which has the same intensity and same effectiveness as this one... u can start from namaskar, good morning, hi , hello, hi ya, yo yo... except namaskar all the rest is just meaningless wishes... terrorists are basically non-muslims (eventhough no one has the right to judge except the god almighty)because they dont fulfill two main things to be a muslim: 1. Islam prohibits suicide in any form and those who commits suicide go straight to hell. This statement is emphasised in Quran. 2. Islam prohibits attacking innocent people in any ways or any means... Now anyone can decide whether they are muslim or non muslim. Hope this answers ur question. i usually dont write comments... but thought this will atleast let u know what it means..

Why was he chosen to be the last messenger? Arent more messengers required as the world has changed a lot in recent times. For example who is to tell us if human cloning and genetic modelling is moral or not? Who is to tell us if killing a genetically modified foetus to make vaccination to cure disease is moral or not? Why do you think a new messenger from God is not required to cover all the newly emerged aspects of Human civilization that noone could think about 1000 years ago? Why was PBUH the last messenger? I dont understand, why did he come at a time when Jesus Christs teachings were sufficient and no messenger was required?

If you closely read bible you will find many contradictions... coz the bible has been heavily edited by humans..... islam teaches all to aquire knowledge..... you wont find any contradictions in quran...

Hello Lotan Potan, Quran is the only book in which it is mentioned that a man can marry only 4 wives at a time... please show me any book including urs which says u can marry "only four" wives...please see "only"... Moreover, Take the situation in US where millions of men are gay... what will the women do if they need baby... u cant see the problem now... soon u will notice....

And pardon me shanavas you can hardly call yourself lucky. I mean who knows when your husband will bring in another wife? Or anotehr two or three wives in your house? That is much worse than divorce. That is living a life of utter humiliation and inferiority, inherent injustice and violation of fundamental human rights of a woman.
Sorry if I was rude,but i mean it and I really feel this way. Legalizing One man four woman is the worst possible thing humanity has ever concieved.

moreover, the conditions to be fulfilled while marrying four wives is very tough...An interesting thing is that you need the permission of the first wife to marry the second one... And satisfying both women equally is a very difficult thing to do and if you cant satisfy both of them equally.. u will be punished in the hereafter... As far as I know, none of my friends I know have more than one wife..

This happend to my friend... his gf got a new job in London and since they are working in two different cities they decided to break up.. i mean divorce...looks weird...yes it is.. we are lucky bro..

You didnt answer my questions. In any case, any version of Bible is sufficient for sustenance of humanity and covers ALL aspects of human behavior that any other religion covers. The other think I would like to note is that Jesus Christs teachings and story is independent of the bible, it is a heart wrenching story of love and selfless compassion that any human can relate to without reading the bible, though I personally believe no human can exhibit the traits Jesus showed to this world. The only question was that humanity has changed a lot since the past few centuries, I dont understand why God will put a fullstop to messengers and second I dont understand what new things did the last messenger teach that were not already present.

shanavas real faith cannot come without questioning. God gave us the greatest gift, our brains, so that we could use it. If you believe blindly without asking questions then a)your faith can never be strong as it has no logical basis and b)you have chosen not to use your brain and wasted God's greatest gift.
You cannot say that Quran is true just because you were told so and just because you blindly believe. You must question it and then find it to be true. Otherwise it is all waste. It is equal to saying that I blindly believe that a monster made of bread and cream is encircling the sun and that monster is God, and I just believe it as it has been ordered. Blind faith is stupidity.

Dude the hatred for Islam has really gone up after 911. There were no such discussions to be found anywhere where Muslims were so hated. But now anywhere I go in the US behind doors I see people talking badly about Muslims. All national polls have abysmal ratings for Muslims. All international polls show muslim countries are the most hated upon.
This hatred is growing each passing day. I dont know where we are heading towards but the future does not look well.

No, the Islamic fundamentalim reared its ugly head after the Revolution ( ? ) in Iran lead by the late A. Khomeni. Till then the Muslims the world over were trying to integrate with rest of the society. The genie is out of the bottle now and it require considerable time and efforts to put that back into the bottle.
The enlightened Muslims themselves have to come forward and make their co-religionists understand the situation. If anybody else tell them, they will feel offended.

The question is not what is the reason for propagating this stereotype. The question is whether they are succeeding in propagating this hatred? The answer is yes. The hate is spreading fast like a huge wave amongst all the religions of this world be it Christianity, Judaism or Hinduism. Soon, no one religion will be so hated and despised as Islam. And if conflict conflagarate, who knows what kind of segregation, profiling, expulsions will Muslims face in the future because of this universal hatred in common man for Islam.

The atheists do not kill anybody for availing rewards in an imaginary life here-after. The atheists you have mentioned were autocrats. Have you heard Lord Acton's maxim: Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. That is what it is.
No religion has ever stopped any war. On the contrary almost 2/3rd of all wards fought were in the name of religions and non-existent gods. Pl search for "War Crime Tribunal" to understand the atrocities committed by the participants of WW-II (especially by the Japanse, predominently believing in Buddhist non-violence). The less we talk about other religions, the better.
Btw some one else killing more humabeings is no justification for the murder and mayhem the world over in the name of your religion. Pl don't segregate people on the basis of caste, creed,colour, religion, region, etc. It is human-suffering that we are concerned about (not religion-wise break-up).

No religious leader, even the HH Dalai Lama (or any other high priest of any religion )voiced their concern when US used Chemical weapons in Vietnam. It was only the irreligious atheist Bertrand Rooussel who had the courage to speak against US.
