Apart from religious benifits which we call it sunna ,,, There are scientific advantages in this. BTW circumcision not only does by muslims alone even jews and chris also do in west i dont know about india,,,,,,,, The hygienic value of circumcision has today been generally conceded, and some physicians recommend the operation as a routine measure for all male infants, it is part of the routine of bathing an uncircumcised boy, to draw back the foreskin and sponge the head of the penis. This is for general cleanliness and also to remove pasty white secretion called smegma, which accumulates under the foreskin and may lead to local irritation unless it is regularly cleansed. Whenever a new born is found to have a tight foreskin (phimosis), the physician usually recommends circumcision.

Frelancer, it was a jewish practice and was in vogue even before the birth of Mohammed. he just continued the same. It was more for hygene in a region where water was a scarce commodity.
If there is any medical benefit, the WHO would have recommended the same for the whole world (like Polio doses and other immunization programmes).

I am not against people of any community. I believe in the basic goodness of all humanbeings and the principles of neo-humanism.
The inventions, etc have nothing to do with religion. They are the results of individual (some times even groups) efforts.
I don't have to believe in the fairy tales of religins for respecting great individuals (btw even Karl Marx was a Jew). And I criticize not major religions but minor ones also as I am an irreligious atheist.

Muslims consider Muhammed as the final messenger.Quarn says prophets were sent to all races and all languages. If you think Muhammed copied it from jews, then there are so many absurdities in bible (not the original revelation) that too should have been copied ..correct?But it is not. balaord, why are you trying to fool yourself? The Quran also contains a lot of abusrdities, contradictions, hatred, etc. Pl search for the Skeptics Annotated Bible. It has category-wise verses like "absurdities, contradictions, hatred, good stuff, etc" from The Bible (both old testament and new testament), The Quran and The Book of Mormon. Try your trick with some one who has not read your Quran.

He was expelled by his father from his house for his stauch opposition to polytheism.After his father's death he was denied inheritance rights for his open support of Islam.

Good Question!! we will never know this because he died rather unceremonisoulsy in London. More over he has reasons not to disclose that too because doing so will not help him in gettig rid of the social evils he fought in the scociety. People should be masters in choosing things what influences them. One cannot do moral policing in the name of religion for ever especially in islam. Any way i dont like serials like those which r aired there. But i strongly support creativity that includes arts music, etc... sufi islam is better than wahabi islam. There r proofs that what ever society doesnt support creativity fails in the long run.
to lift the people from their ignorance (?), probably india can lend its experience and afganisthan can be given a special "scheduled tribe nation" status...when compared to other countries
benefits would be:
=> afganisthan atheletes would be eligible directly to the final in any sport; in case they do not win, the third place would be reserved for them...
=> universities worldwide would reserve seats for afganisthan candidates...

Krommy, can you not differentiate between cutting hair, nails, etc and the natural covering of an essential part? It was a practice which originated in the Arabian desert where there was scarcity of water. It is well known that that portion is meant for protecting the sensity of the portion it covers. If it was not required, nature would have eliminated the same during the stage of evolution itself.

Secondly..It was suppose to haapen...infact muslims are going to be divided into 73 groups fighting with each other..it was already prognosticated by Prophet 1400 years ago...if your ego lets you to do so..go and read the future predictions given by Prophet on any authentic website and compare them with the present day circumstances...surely if you red it with a cynical mind you could also find flaws in it to make fun of it...but still.
