It is in India where one can say modern Civil Disobedience took root. Yet as we witness scenes from Burma (do not refer to it as Myanmar as it was renamed by the oppressive Military Junta goverment)where Monks, students and common people have all come together to demonstrate against the Junta - as America, Britain, the UN have called on the Burmese Goverment to observe restrant and pay heed to the protesters, India remains silent. Yes the Indian Government has contracts with the Junta Government but can we not put self-interest behind and give unconditional support to the people of Burma? We as a naton love to fling words like Democracy,Freedom and Self-Determnation around and yet the Government has not pressurized the Junta to follow democratic traditions. The Burmese uprising may or may not succeed but taking aposition against the Military Junta is the right thing to do. The Indian Government must speak up for the brave Burmese people who are finally asking for their rights.

I second you on that.. Indian govt apathy can be clearly seen by the fact that in the midst of everything the indian Petroleum minister signed a business deal with miliatary govt for oil and gas reserves just last week.. Congress govt has always been good for nothing..

India should have supported Burmese people in 1948 itself and attacked military rulers, even in 1971 when Bangladesh was freed India should have attacked myanmar and freed people over there and should have shot dead military rulers, forget China, China will not dare to attack India as they are more worried about their own people and now India is Atomic Power, we have support from USA, if China tries to play mischief we can teach them lesson so don't worry about China, will Indian Govt. take action now?
They slept when nepal was awakening. They sided the monarch without understanding people's feelings. They are doing the same mistake again. Insted of giving strong signal to the military rulers, just fearing china, they are not making any comments. But to reach the "super power" goal, you have to choose sides and make yourself loud and clear. non-decisive foreign policy do not work.

Nepal was ignored by India due to the Islamic agenda. India is against Hinduism and is trying to ensure that Hindu religion is annihilated in the next few years. This is evident by the fact that India ignored Nepal which was the only true Hindu nation on earth and DMK Karunanidhi calling Ram a drunkard. Why does Karu not call Allah a drunkard too?? Does he dare to do so. The first thing the muslims will do is to rape his wife, daughters and remove his private parts. This is India ladies and gentlemen. We need a promised land very soon where we Hindus will be safe and we must buy land where we can live happily or else our children will not be Hindu anymore.
