True the comment is distasteful,but the point hear is the "Dravidian chouhanist"who are proud of "tamil and dravadisim" why do you people have so many snow white fair nort indian heroies in your film.I do not understand tamil but it is not hard to understand the film because of so many english words in them.
Why is it right for karunanidi and his followers to hate every thing north indian the language the supposed race of all north indian, but ok with english and white italian.

there is no hatred,patil. hindi was imposed and it was resisted. we dont have to suppress our mother tongues to be a part of one country. it is a fact that when u come to tamilnadu,u will be forced to learn tamil. love of ones language does not mean hating another. it is only when one language is being imposed that there is resisitance. the resistance was in the form of self immolations. the bjp approved the project and the present alignment. it suddenly drags ram into a political matter. another group takes a matter of faith to a court. in this situation,the chief minister was forced to raise the question of rama being imaginary. what else can he do when a project is being stopped by using the name of rama. can u understand the situation? if he hadnt done it,the project would have been stopped. various committees have studied and finalised the project. the educated people have also been fooled . theynaively believe that a project of this magnitude would have been done without a comprehensive project report.

there is a breaking point for everyone and karunanidhi is nearing it. if it breaches, india would witness a civil riot like no other.
this is what karunanidhis sadistic comments and ideologies about dravidan would lead to.

that is why i said, it requires a thorough understanding of all the views.

no body was suppressed. no body lost a life. brahminism was targeted and rooted out. the brahmins are well respected and well liked. a few misguided souls are spouting hatred against the dmk. if u go to the root of everything,u will realise that the hatred springs exclusively from people like mgrfan and others. the bjp dragged in rama after approving the project. the swamis took the matter to a court of law. the advanis are back in action. the thevidians and sanmans are expressing the hatred which is in their minds. go to the beginning of this forum,and find out the levels of hatred that have been expressed. the tamils are an inclusive and tolerant people. everyone is welcomed with open hearts. the tallest leader speaks from the experiences of his past where a revolution was waged by the power of the pen.
it is sad to see indians fighting on petty issues.... indias cultural and religious literature is much more than just ramamyan and mahabharata... these two epicf poems are a consummate piece of poetry...but there are better treatise on religion/philosophy/culutre written by intellectuals of throughout our history.... hinduism is a a conglomerate of various beliefs and practices many of which are self contradictory and hugely divers.... sadly the modern day hindus are fascinated by just two epics of mahabharat and ramayana(which are just two great poems and have gone through additions and amandments over a period of 1000 years...the last amendment being in 13th century).... ignorence nad lack of historical understanding is breeding intolerence among the educated middle class of our country.... as they say a little knowlewdge is a dangerous thing>>>

That doesn't mean that one should destroy heritage sites on Ram, or Buddha, etc. Heritage should be preserved, and not destroyed. There are so many other possible shipping routes. I am an atheist, but I still feel heritage sites should be preserved.

@SAN ur right....but that exactly is the point....who will decide what is aheritage site... u have got professional agencies like ASI and universities who can decide on such issues ... moreover far more important sites than the alleged RAM SETU are lying in neglect or have been destroyed... our history is being continously destroyed and we are running after the unimportant trivial issues because people are toatlly unaware about their own history and the right wing politicians take advantage of this ignorance and half knowledge

IN THIS CASE, WE HAVE TO SEEK SOMEONE AND TRUST THEM WHO ARE ENLIGHTENED AND WHO REALIZED THE ALL PERVADING DIVINITY OR GOD. FOR EXAMPLE, THERE IS A SAINT IN ANDHRA PRADESH, CALLED SRI RAMAMDASA, AND HIS LIFE IS AS RECENT AS only 500 YEARS OLD. AT THAT TIME, MUSLIM RULER TANISHA WAS RULING AND SRI RAMADASA BUILDS A TEMPLE BY TAKING MONEY FROM PUBLIC, TANISHA LOCKS SRI RAMAMDASA TO REPAY, BUT LORD RAMA COMES AND PAYS THE MONEY TO TANISHA. THERE IS A TEMPLE STILL REVERED AS GREATE PLACE OF WORSHIP, CONSENTED BY TANISHA AT THAT TIME WITH HIS WORDS.
SIMILAR IS THE LIFE OF SRI KABIR DAS.
