View from a Chinese

i have read the entire article and all the comments. from you guys, i really see the hope and the huge potential of India because there are still so many subjective people with warm heart for your own country.
I'd say, i worked and lived in India for 3 months also, although it is not enough to give my comprehensive to India, i have to say our two developing countries have a lot in common.
At least, we have the same long history and culture base. and the most important thing is i see people from these two countries are all confident with their countries and very concerned about the future.
But it is sad we lack understanding between each other, i hope more and more Chinese people will come to India seeing how intelligent you are and more and more Indian people coming to China to have a look.

absurd
by argentina on Oct 15, 2007 07:42 PM  Permalink

i find the article absurd as it is coming from a journalist. I wish u were born in China, then u wud know wht is it like to 'report' about something.

I find the line "But is it entirely correct to link China's giant strides to its indifference to human rights?" equally amusing, again coming from a journo. Kashmir remains a lost world even today bcoz of democracy. In the same way, laloos and mayas have to do regular rounds of courts bcoz of democracy and their misdeeds. u shud have been born in Tibet, Ms. Author.

When this was said by....
by Bipin Musale on Sep 24, 2007 05:43 PM  Permalink

When Senapramukh Thackray saheb advocated for "benevolent dictatorship" he was ridiculed by the so called secularists. China is the telling example of today that lack of democracy need not be hinderance to prosperity and that the importance of democracy should not be overplayed as is done by politicians here during their electoral propaganda. Some time back A BBC journalist and a British by nationality and ethincity also entertained the same view and clearly placed the democracy in India below par with respect to the dictatorship in Chaina. Dalai Lama also accepted that the future of tibet was safer in China's surdom rather than in its freedom. It is naive to believe that in democracy power lies in hands of people and in dictatorship people are at great loss. In any rule the strings of governance ultimately go into the hands of those who know its business.
