Build a DEEP CANAL on the Dhanushkodi peninsula. A thin slice of SEA, cutting the Land just before DHANUSHKODI. The width of the CANAL is 1 mile. Then you can dredge all you want in that CANAL.
The problem will be SOLVED without violating the RAMA-HANUMAN SETHU.

Let them try winning the elections after hurting the sentiments of 800 Millions Hindus.
WE SHALL SEE HOW THEY WILL WIN !!
On the other HAND MY PROPOSAL WILL SOLVE ALL PROBLEMS. Canaling the DHANUSHKODI peninsula is NOT difficult at all. Check the map again and look at the THINNEST part on Dhanushkodi peninsula.
If there need be, will Congress be so committed to establish that there is no proof of existence of Mohammad, and therefore, no 'shariyat laws' shall be followed?

Mr Yaqoot, so did Ram and Ramsetu.
Your stone at Mecca which is said to be sent down by Allah, is in fact, the miniature SHIVLINGA (Shankar) which you very hearily regard and pray for. Ha ha ha

Congress and UPA are next to establish that there was no religion by the name of Hindu, let alone the oldest one.

ohhhhh which god..
* The Geological Survey of India conducted a detailed survey of the area and concluded that the structure was a natural one. A premier institute had made 91 boreholes in and around the site to ascertain the truth and the soil samples kept at the Sethu Project Office could be verified." [[6]]
* Rama Setu IS a natural formation: American space agency NASA has said that the structure of sand bars and rocks situated in the Palk Strait between India and Sri Lanka, known as Ram Sethu or Adam's Bridge in maps, is a natural phenomenon and not a man-made structure. This was announced on Saturday by N K Raghupathy, CEO, Sethusamudram Corp Ltd, at a press conference when he revealed the contents of an email received in this regard from NASA's Johnson Space Centre. A few days back, the company sent an email to NASA to know whether Ram Sethu was a made-made structure

I am not arguing about the proof. Even if its natural it will come in "God" made category. Setu was in-fact built by God so no wonder they are saying its not man made.

ok Arun just forget about God, Religion and proof. Just talked about physical significant of this. go through this site. http://www.hindujagruti.org/activities/campaigns/religious/ramsetu/?print=yes
Regardless of whether there is evidence or not. End of the day.....all religions are intrinsically unscientific.....I say this despite being a believer myself.
However when it comes to the beliefs of millions of ppl, they should be respected. Besides there are several good reasons to not destroy Ram Setu.
