Why not? There are so many proofs in the form of documents and other sources. What is the proof for monkeys-built bridge?
If Govt or ASI wants to save money for Shipping Commercial Activities they should ask relevent communities but should not attack on the very very crucial sentiments of people. Can they file Affadavits like this against Bible Or Kuraan in Supreme Court? Are they testing the tolerance or Hinuds? Shame on these people.

Government is biased.
Modern day techniques can only prove things upto 3000 yrs back. The science at this stgae is not that much advanced to track things back upto as long as 5000 yrs. Many scientific theories keep on changing with the improvement in techniques with time. What was said by Dalton was superceded by Bohr and then his theory was superceded by Rutherford. This is science.
Yes, it can happen only in India, which has majority Hindus. Only in India do we allow anybody to question the authenticity of Hindu Scriptures or Gods. Do these people - the ASI or the Govts, have the courage to question Jesus, Bible, Allah, Quoran? They would not dare doing it fearing the backlash and dent in the vote bank. Testing the patience of majority Hindus is not good for the rulers and any more attempts to demean like this should be vehemently opposed.

It is not whether Rama existed or not. The facts are :there are the remnants of a bridge under water ..... and the government proposes something to make lanka-india route by sea easier..... why not agree to that ? ? ?
Even if the Bridge was built by RAma did he intend it to converted into a "protected and ancient monument " .If one can rely on the Ramayana , it was made for a purpose which it definitely served.
The Vedanta Shastra ( Indian / Hindu Philosophy /Tatva Sastra) is fraught with advice from the great Rishis that nothing in this universe lasts for ever......except the Brahma.
"....aaagama-paayina anithya " ( everything comes and goes.....nothing lasts for ever ) is what Bhagvan told Arjuna in the Bhagvad gita (2:14) about everything in the universe.
Why should the remnants of the Ram Sethu not be abolished ..........
Or has all the Hindus who want to protect the Ram Sethu forgotten this great advice in the Gita? ? ?

sheila ji. The altercation here is the very existence of Ram. Can we ask our Mother who our father is?. Mother alone knows the father of the child.That is y we put her the First of God's list, second Father,again shown by mother to a child, third Guru, the teacher, and finaly the God. So a child gradually comes to know everything by nature. If all children questions about the ancesstry, where will be the end to it? Here the EGO stands between parties. That's it. But there are many points ( like u have pointed out from Gita) to defend but not the existence of God or Ram in this case.

which technology you are talking about? Did you read Vedas before commenting? People like you who are pseudo secularists destroyed 97% of the existing vedic literature. You are right - there is nothing like 'Hindu" in the vedic literature. We are from a lineage called "vedic society". We are vydics - not hindus.
Rama - Hanuman - these are neither Dravidians or Aryans. It became a habit to the idiots in this country to divide the people in the every possible way that one can think of. Don't categorize Gods as Dravidians and Aryans. This is sheer ignorance.

The judge who says that Ram did not exist must also ask himself if he is the real son of his legal father, because if his father dies, then there will be no DNA sample from his father anymore and he too cannot prove to be the child of his so called legal father.
