Modern day techniques can only prove things upto 3000 yrs back. The science at this stgae is not that much advanced to track things back upto as long as 5000 yrs. Many scientific theories keep on changing with the improvement in techniques with time. What was said by Dalton was superceded by Bohr and then his theory was superceded by Rutherford.
