It's unfortunate that some people belonging to the non Hindu community trying to speak on science, but they should remember that even existence of Jesus is not proved, then how the epic before lakhs of years before can be proved by science. Even the science keeps changing. If that project is not taken up, the country doen't drown. what if later on,we got a proof that it was man made, we will loose one of the oldest historical man made monument.

The intention is not to hurt the sentiments of non Hindus.. But it's important to understand that the probability of science is also a science. some important thinks can be taken only on faith.
This is really a complex issue which combines belief and science and issue that doesnot have any solution in India. Let wisdom prevail on all. The best thing would be to go in for a referendum on this issue. Will the ruling party dare to do it ? This is the best solution as the heaven is not going to fall down if this project is dropped but hell will definitely break as the so called religious fundamentals whom people also refer as "Bhagwa Rung" will definitely take advantage of the sentiments of the people. To all Hindus: Agitation on Ram Setu is understandable. But why our conscience does not rebel to see the way and manner old, historical and religiously important temples are run and maintained in our neighbourhood. Why our enthusiasm in going to temple is met by an equal enthusiasm/urge to come out of the Temple. There is no religious reform movement not to speak of agitation to restore, at least, the dignity of temples and to weed out what is generally accepted to be the malady in the religion.
To the Central Govt/ASI: A wrong question will elicit wrong answer. The correct question is as to whether the Government believes in the existence of gods in whose name so many places of worship are made by human being, God themselves (Rameshwaram by Lord Rama) and the nature (Swayambhu existence). The answer has to be NO. But does this mean that a place of worship being man made structure can be pulled down, removed, relocated even though it is believed to be the house of gods from time immemorial.
Being a Muslim, I do understand the outrage of Hindus. As far beliefs are concerned I might be miles apart from Hindu brethren, but as a practicing believer i feel very sad at this sorry state of affairs of our country. Govt should be resolving problem and not be a problem.
There are some miscreant, devious minds on this board trying to inflame and settle personal messaging fights, which is very unfair.
For the muslim members I would ask not to abuse any religion and if others are doing it to you, it is their naivety and ignorance pleas be patient with them. If anyone abuses my faith I do get hurt.
