India was never taken seriously by International community and even our small neighbours. So there is nothing to worry about and life will continue as it has been.

Can't agree more. The slaves of Gandhi family don't have the guts..., they'll rather be blackmailed by Karat. I had deep respect for Dr MM Singh but unfortunately he also seems to be 'weak'. It's proving that education doesn't give courage for a noble cause also.

showing courage will not help him in this issue...
The Left is not willing to compromise...
I think once BJP is back to absolute power, they will re-negotiate and change few lines here and there and approve it
Why is that in a democracy people are relevant only as far as voting is concerned. Once they vote next five their voices, their concerns, their emotions and their intelligence is a no use to anyone.
India is power starved growing economy. How much coal can we dig out of earth and how much can we import? Our gas reserves are not any great thing to write home about and our hydro power is very vagrant. certainly nuclear power is one great option. If we look at France which has been stymied by lack of conventional power producing resources. They turned to nuclear power. Today 75% of the power produced in France is nuclear power. So the importance of nuclear power option for India need not underlined.
But unfortunately any of the political parties are not interested in the main issue. If the opppsition has some issues with the Nuclear agreement why did not the congress explain their stand to the citizens of the country? why are they choosing to soft pedal on the whole issue. Certainly, if the treaty has objectionable clauses as far as the defence nuclear program is concerned they should be discussed in open. On major issues like this we could even have an national referendum after all the citizens have been informed about the ramifications of the agreement.

I sure am in favor of a call-back policy , but even that will be exploited and misused ,ya know.
Quite like weapons, nuclear tech & material is multi-billion dollar trade. We cannot re-sell F-16/Mirage to anyone. Brazil figured out way to develop Nuclear Independent energy policy using Sugarcane waste. Indians did not even think about investing money in Solar farms, Tidal, Winds, etc. The HOT SUMMER OF India can be converted to SHADE and ABUNDANT energy, but we have to suck onto cold nations technology. If Indians wanted to use Thorium, they could have done it by now. Wasted R & D out there.

we don't have a worthwhile nuclear technology yet and our power demands are huge.
Also solar and wind we have similar problem with not having any homegrown technology.
so in all cases we have to import. that is a reality.

We need to maximize into what we have i.e sugarcane waste, solar, etc. Then we can look into other avenues. We don't have any energy policy to utilize what we got

N Tech, materials, F-16 or Mirage - can't be resold. That's a fact today of the hard practicality in the unipolar world. You can't just do it. Period. We don't have it, as simple as that.
If bagasse (sugarcane waste) could be the alternative in this warming planet, people would have moved to that much much earlier. Why isn't that happening?
Solar, Tidal, Winds etc are employed in this country but they have their own limitations due to expenses, availability, various geographic conditions etc. I wish they would suffice but not yet practically possible. Otherwise, the developed world would have much before shifted towards them. They are also using but they also have limited capacity in those areas.
Hot Summer - If you are talking about generation of electricity by employing the temp differential, is it viable in a rather big way?
Thoriums - that's a different ballgame. We've it but we've limited supply there also. How much can you sustain? Besides, we've defense related requirements also.
It is really a shameful act on the part of the UPA Govt. especially by Dr. Manmohan Singh for not going ahead with the N-Deal. Who will take serious view of the utterings of the PM and the Govt? It is very sad indeed. Well, may be people like Quottrochi and the terrorists will take this Govt. seriously as they are aware that this Govt. headed by Dr. Singhand controlled by Madam will not do any harm to them and allow them to go scot free.

Why blame Manmohan or UPA when BJP after knowing fully well that the nuke deal is good for the country, opposed it just for gaining some political mileage? Poor Manmohan is let down by his party and poor India let down by its own sons!

See, the main culprit is left. All other UPA allies doent care whether we sign it or not.
