From Bangkok to Bombay for a good BANG
by Dipak Bose on Nov 13, 2007 06:33 PM  Permalink

Vajpayee, Advani, Rajnath Singh are all COMMIEE Chinese.
After signing the deal, instead of going to Bangkok, all Americans and Europeans would come to Bombay for sex-tourism.
That will give India 20 percent growth rate, so said Man Mohan.
Those who are against the Deal are all Chinese, they can go and eat only Spiders and cockroach.
Those who supports the deal will eat real Hamburger and Pizza.

Instead of NUCLEAR DEAL, Lets go for ENERGY DEAL WITH USA, SEE MY TAKE
by Mahendra Patel on Oct 30, 2007 07:01 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Neclear deal though on surface looks good but is INDIA ready to invest Billions of Dollars, It cost 2Billion per power plant. Spend That or More on RESEARCH and DEVELOPMENT INCLUDING SETTING UP MANUFACTURING HIGH ENERGY,ADVANCE MANUFACTURING and RECOVER COST BY MAKETING IT TO THIRD WORLD.

WHAT WE NEED AT PRESENT IS GASFIRED LPG GENERATORS, DOESNOT COST MUCH,CAN BE BUILD IN THREE TO SIX MONTHS OR EARLY,BUILD THOUSANDS, COST LESS PER KW, NO POLLUTION, DOESNOT REQUIRE BIG LANDS, AND WILL MEEET INDIAS ENERGY REQUIREMENTS OVERNIGHT, YOU CAN BUILD RIGHT WERE YOU NEED ENERGY ,NO MEED TO BUILD MILES AND MILES OF TRANSMISSION LINES.

AND IF GE, WESTING HOUSE, BECHTEL WANTS TO CASH IN ON THESE THATS FINE, THEIR QUALITY AND WORK ETHICS AND DELIVERY SCHEDULE I ADMIRE, THEY CAN BUILD THOSANDS OF THESE IN ONE YEAR ALL OVER INDIA.

WHY CAN'T WE GO WITH IMMIDIATLEY AND SEE RESULT WITHIN SHORT TIME, ONCE THIS IS DONE AND INDIANS FEEL CONFORTABLE WITH US COMPANIES,AND BY THE WAY WE WILL HAVE MUCH STROGER BASE SOFAR ENERGY IS CONCERNED, THAN GOING WITH NUCLEAR IS FINE, IT TAKES YEARS TO BUILD, YEAR TO STUDY LOCATIONS ETC.

REGARDS

sounds good but where do we get enough gas for the thousands of turbines? Depend on Iran, Pakistan etc? If there is any problem with Pak in future, then Iran and other muslim countries will join Pakistan and choke the gas supply/ Equally bad scenario like the Hyde act!

India will pay a price for backing out
by a c on Oct 29, 2007 10:32 PM  Permalink

If India goes back on the deal following are the possible damages:
1. Future US admins would be reluctant to pursue any major deal with India
2. Any future Congress led govt will have credibility problem in world capitals
3. Even though the US might be weakened due to Iraq etc it is not a nation to be trifled with. Even China the next superpower doesn't openly humiliate the US or its president which India will end up doing by dumping the deal.
4. India would be only major economy that is boxed in the technology denial regime and would be handicapped in its quest for progress and prosperity
5. It would make it harder to come up with a commercial Thorium based FBR in the absence of research cooperation with other advanced nations
7. Given US sanctions against Iran no realistic of hope for IPI pipeline in the near future
8. If the US wants it can also make it harder for India to gain oil or LNG resources in other US friendly countries such as Qatar, Australia or Nigeria etc
9. India can pretty much kiss any hope of gaining a permanent UN seat goodbye for the foreseeable future
10. Just like PVNR backed out of nuclear test after preparing for it and then BJP went ahead with Pokhran-II, it is likely that another BJP govt would conclude the same deal and thus take all the credits at Congress's expense

India Should Want THE SAME deal as US -China Deal
by apjunkmail on Oct 29, 2007 10:24 AM  Permalink

India SHOULD want the same terms as the US-

China nuclear agreement even if it

takes significantly longer to

negotiate.
India cannot agree to Fissile Material

Cutoff Treaty objectives which is part

of NSG draft as it is a back door to

cap and roll back of Indian Nuke

weapons. Without Fissile Material

nukes weapons cannot be mantained or

when Fissile Material degradation in

the weapons takes place they cannot be

refreshed in future.

Kissinger is telling half truths
by Peter Parker on Oct 29, 2007 04:54 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

What kissinger means to say is that no one will take this government seriously. Seperate that from India. Basically its this government (read MMS) that blew this deal by first trying to ramrod and not trying to get BJP on board. Blame it on the NSC and the beaurocrats that advised MMS. Thats why i repeat MMS as PM is a joke, he should resign and not be used like a deflector for Sonia.
Kissinger however should remember the CTBT agreement which was signed by Bill Clinton and not ratified by the US congress. Should we not question US by the same argument?

This guy had to take him self off the 911 investigation group. He said job will be in conflict of interest with his pro Saudi lobby job that he gets paid for, who cares what this guy says. Any one pro Saudi is a suspect in my book , when someone picks Saudi interest over their own countries interest the are Blacklisted .

Understand this..
by apjunkmail on Oct 29, 2007 03:49 AM  Permalink

In international relation there are no friends ONLY interests, this nuke deal in its present form will not be in Indian long term interest. West sells this as non proliferation win to its people which is a code for cap and roll back.
Absolutely determinantal to long term Indian security interests. If west wants this special relation ship so bad and it appears they do the MUST lift all technology , sanctions the applied in unjust manner without any deal.

Here is what India needs
by apjunkmail on Oct 29, 2007 03:33 AM  Permalink

Cap and roll back of nuke weapons are never in Indian future security interests or self respect and takes away the greatest equalizer against all kinds of black mails from China etc.. India must with time upgrade its deployed nuke weapons .A pat on the back from the west or a tooth less seat on the security council %u2013without veto power- is something that appeals to deluded fools and western direct or indirect agents.
If west wants this special relation ship so bad and it appears they do the MUST lift all technology , sanctions the applied in unjust manner without any deal.

Left? Right?

At least you can thank God you still have a functioning Left in Indian politics. The US is fascist all the way. Don't be a pawn of US policy.
