cost has gone beyond means.. only IT people earing in thousands /lacs can afford the city.. a small pent house cost half crore.. with that half crore you can spent a lavish life in a small city..

every city has got its own charm and like other side of coin some drawbacks..
when i went to kerala especially cochin and tiruvananthpuram after gap of 5 years i was surprised to see my kerala cities converted into concrete jungle, each flats costing not below 30 lacs.. the places near black waters where coconot trees were swaying, now gigantic buildings are standing.. kerala gets the heavy rains if this situation continues, keralites are not far away from experienceing heavy floods..

Contradictory to your statement B'lore is the worst city i have seen in my life. Merley u will get a space on road for drive left by Auto Rikshaw & BMTC buses. This is big city n day ends here at 10pm. Police says bcoz of security issue we closing at 10, if this is what the security then why we require police man. This city requires 4 years to complete 3km flyover can't imagine if they have to construct 10km flyover. No Festival is celebrated here, look at the mumbai, pune. This is such a dull city i have ever seen. _________WiFiBOLLYWOOD.COM

Traffic is a problem - not just bangalore, but everywhere. Look at how it is in mumbai?....

Day ends at 10pm (HAHA - be real - its 11.30pm) but then, Bangalore is byfar the safest city in the country(touch wood).....

Here the road gets constructed atleast, but other places? there will be no sign of a road at all? HAHAHA

Don't be a cry-baby. I guess you are also one more of those IT folks who have descented into Bangalore for a living, who expects everything is shit around them & dream of living in America. Do you part to improve the situation rather than just complain would be my suggestion.

when ppl all over the world want our city do u think your words of bad roads make any diff

the reason roads have become bad is ppl coming from every place in india!!!! (No offence meant to anyone here)

They want bengalooru for climate for software jobs for engineering colleges for safety for good social life evrythng and they complain about roads.......

be greatful tat we do are so hospitable and accept everyone..... u go to any corner of tamilnadu and speak u get a reply back in tamil ONLY and they are not so broadminded enough to make a stranger feel at home when they visit their state (No hard feelings against anyone again i have countless tamil friends who are extremely kind)

Bengalooru was is and will always be the best city!!!!!!!!

Damn fool, 90% of work force in your successful software companies are tamils, telugus and north indians, not kanadigans, u r not doing us a favor, alright! you dont accept us bcoz u love us, but bcoz we are useful. look at ur politics, damn it, u r living in a president's rule and u dont have balls to stand up against the government that's screwing ur life...go figure

Yes tamilians are not nice people. Kannadigas are 10000000 times better then tamilians. tamilians are cunning kannadigas are open and nice people. tamilians have some kind of frustration among themselves and they always want to prove that they are at par with north indian though they themselves know that they are inferior.kannadigas are the real people they don't have any north indian or south indian feeling and they belive in one united india. I learnt kannada as I respect kannadigas I will never speak tamil as tamilians have no worth.

This rightly reflects why this city is so pathetic. Its not why we are here but how the city has fared. Before IT came south Indians used to sell Dosas in delhi, manipur and all over places. we never asked them why they were there.Today with so many talent coming in this city has boomed. So your argument falls flat

You talk about being hospitabel i guess anyone who has rented a place in bangalore would know how cheap, rude and senseless people are here. Not to mention I have not felt a difference between chennai and bangalore you seem to be so proud of.

Mr. sumanth d murthy may be you dont know the development of cities like Newyork and Los Angeles, now these cities boast of foreigner now and they are the people there who use to pay the heavy taxes high rental and higher cost of living. No body have FORCED them to stay there but they are living there doing business.
Mr murthy , just do one thing , come out of your house/office and try hire an auto , you will get to know the super pathetic condition of city by that foul mouthed auto driver when he will either ask you double triple of actual sum or simply deny to go.The roads are bad, people are rude, everything is costly and you are saying bangaaaalllooouuuurrru ... whatever .. is a nice city.
and look at your logic for bad roads,it is because of "ppl coming from every place in india"....haa ha ha ha ....may i ask one question that Have locals build the road and didn't used it but ppl from outside came they started using roads and made it bad ...ha ha ha ha...you are so dumb murthy ..
you are saying "be greatful that we do are so hospitable and accept everyone" can i ask that WHO THE HELL ARE YOU (No offence meant to anyone here ;)) ..this is india and anybody is free to live anywhere and if you stop ..GOVT and those people will put a ROD in your back...and they will surely ask HOW AER YOU ?
and regarding TAMILS one thing i should say dear ...that in bangalore(aaahh this is actually the right name) TAMILS are more in numbers then north indians ..to whom you are actually jea

Wrong to compare
by JAILAL JALALUDEEN on Oct 25, 2007 10:52 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

After reading most of the comments ( a lot I agree with and a few seems absurd and out of context as usual ) I feel that it is wrong to compare any of our major cities as they have their own strength, beauty and ugliness. All were developed on different strengths, all have different cultures eventhough most of them are getting more cosmo , thanks to the huge floating and migrant population. Defenitely all cities are improving in terms of infrastructure, but the growth was so fast and indisciplined, some cities couldn't cope up and got bust up, but things will change and it may take time. But I am glad that every city has a heart and accepts everyone, gives space for every one, forget bad roads, salty water, hot and humid climate... there are plus points to cover up all these and advnatages which are not to be compared out of context. Those who cannot bear the bad side should better stick with our most beautiful villages. City life - we must learn to adjust and adopt. There is something for everyone .... Happy living..:-)

I want to add, after seeing a lot of flak poured on Chennai and Tamilians, that Chennai and alltogether Tamilnadu is a better place to live ( am not comparing with any other places ). Me hailing from Kerala and now settling in Chennai was able to understand this. Please do not take it bad if Chennaites speaks Tamil or English only ( because most of them does not know Hindi - but on the same breath one will be surprised to know that a lot of Chennaites speaks hindi and Chennai have a very big hindi speaking population ) , pls dont take it bad if Chennai is so hot , humid and have water scarcity ( one should not be blamed for geographical and climatic things which we cannot change ), pls do not take it bad if some part of Chennai is stinking ( measures are being taken to clean up the stink generating water bodies ), but I would request you to see the plus side as well. Chennai has the low cost of living, have nice roads, have fantastic beaches and a long beach side drive, have a fantastic entrepreneural spirit, and to me it is among the SAFEST cities to live. Lets LIVE AND LET LIVE. Cheers :-) Jai

A typical congress/leftist style Hindu. To prove his secularity, he has to sit on his knees in a mosque and sit inside the pews of a church. Can anyone think of a muslim or christian doing the same thing with reverance?
Even after leaving the shores or India, the author has not forgotten his pseudo secular background of his Nehruvian forefathers
