On such crucial matters, there is a need to take the view points of BJP as they are the main opposition party in the parliament.
So far BJP has not come out catagorically whether they are for the deal or against it. And if they are against it then which clause is bugging them most.
So far BJP has resorted to its age old practice/style of involving different party leaders to give different statements and confuse the whole society. This will help them to use the statemnet that suits most on a particular situation.
Yashwant Sinha opened his mouth and made a few statements but Advaniji asked him to keep his mouth shut.
Now BJP is silent and people do not know what is their stand.
Advaniji Ab aap hi kuch boliye. Desh ke bade neta hain aap. Yeh koi parivarik ya party ka mamla to hai nahin. Desh ki baat hai. Mulk ki Izzat bhi Dao par lagi hai.
Magar aap par bharosa kitna kiya jaye.Aap ne aur george saheb ne to america jane ke liye aur security ke naam par Kapde tak Tuta Diya tha aur Junta ko bataya bhi nahin tha.Abhi aapko desh ke bhita hi bolna hai. Koi kapda nahin utarna hai. Jhat se bolyye.

Main political parties of India, Congress and BJP have been imposing American globalization on Indian people for last 15 years. Both of the parties claim the economic policy has 'human face'. The truth is that nobody sees any 'dog face' even. Unemployment, poverty and price rise etc. are sky-rocketing. People of India fears now, India may be another American base after Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Pakistan, Israel, South Korea, Iraq, Kuwait etc. The Left parties were firmly against the India-U.S. nuclear deal and would not allow India to be a junior partner of the United States. U.S.S. Nimitz, the American aircraft-carrier, which was instrumental in killing so many innocent people in Iraq, was anchored in the Indian waters earlier.
We talk of the blind Left, but what about the BJP? They have absolutely no ideology but blindly opposing what the government proposes. Its quite amazing to hear them oppose the deal when during their own rule they supported it. And now that the deal is halted, they are now asking the PM to resign. Can they ever make up their mind?
There is one simple underlying cause of all this debates and problems occuring in India.Congress.The most unethical, family run, foreigner owned party which has caused considerable damage to moral fabric of this country and degraded it to nadir in last 60 years of fraudulent administration and misrule. The Constitution has been written by guys mostly of congres who were only euphoric, inexperienced and low calibre lot. They have created havoc by making bureaucracy and judiciary completely unaccountbale, virtual non action against corrupt misbehaved or incompetent public servants.Where on earth such doctrine is written in ancient books or in any other literature? The idiots want to make people fight so they can collect votes, mint millions.see the sheer luxury in which these shameless congress men and their offshoots and other politicians live like Sonia,Rahul,MM,Mayawati, vasundhara or others. All these shameless guys spend crores every year on themselves in a country with per capita of Rs 25000.It is sheer crime, the corruption is rampant and naked and shemelss. Only handful of judges are honest and at higher courts. The judiciary is most corrupt and non delivering liability on time and money of citizens without any relief. They should feel shame and resign who are in hands of greedy and corrupt lwayers, another unaccountable, uncontrolled gang of blood succkers misbehaved and dirty lot needing drastic handling.Indians must first clean up.Nuclear or other deals will fall in place alright

I agree with Aftab. Not that I am the greatest fan of the Congress, but the Prof really seems to have zero logic and doesnot seem to have a clue of what he is talking...

Why is Prime Minister Manmohan Singh so angry? He couldn't find the teacher who taught Mathematics to the Communists. Media says they come to me to take lunch. Every time they come with calculation that how can make 20,000 MW, 40,000 MW, 60,000 MW.

You are absolutely right Prof Gupta.
The congress has made all the institutions including judiciary a mere mockery.
The judges have been selected based on money power and polictial affiliation.
Once in place the judges have been wooed by plum posts after retirement.
Congress has never and will never have Bharat agenda, their agenda stems from Doon school folks who have no what india is ?
I challenge if Rahul Gandhi can answer a question like, which is the most densly populated state in India?
As far people like Aftab who always see things through blurred Jihadi mind, we assure you that, we will pray for you as we believe in centuries in " vasudhaiva kudumbakam"

Professor you are poisionous cobra and desrve a place in Jhandewalan and not in college. Your are a shame and insult as you are communal and castiest.
Buy a khaki nicker and black cap and go the the shakha and not the college.
In a democracy, in order to generate a clear consensus on issues such as N-Deal, we need to take the opinion of the younger generation who will be viving for jobs. We must not leave it to few guys whose days are numbered to decide the future of this country. The MMS government should resign if it cannot implement a programme it has carefully crafted for the benefit of the future. It is a shame to hold on to power if it cannot implement what it wants to implement. The small parties will not be very keen to topple the government as they will be losers. The commies will never take the country forward because it is against their hidden agenda. It onlt proves that politicians are interested in power and position and not the development of the country. I don't think we are going to test a bomb in the near future. As far as the security is concerned, I guess we have sufficient war heads in the stock pile. In any way MMS cannot disclose all those details due to security concern. So we need to trust him and allow him to go ahead with the deal.
It seems there is no love lost between Cong and Left. In the name of meetings they are going on giving dates for further meetings. Now it is Nov 16th. After that there will be another date. Taarikh pe Taarikh, Taarikh pe Taarikh. Till Gujrat elections result come out. After that they (Cong and Left) will decide which way to go. Till then what ever is said and done everything is drama.
Whatever deal: 123 or 789: the overriding consideration should be the strategic interests of India in the long run. Thorium route may not have matured right now. Till we achieve technological maturity in fission and fusion reactions, our coal and hydroelectric options can be exploited. We should not subject ourselves to the ditates of foreign powers; even in nuclear energy. Dr. K.Natarajan; Professor.

Dear Professor Natarajan, Good points. Here is the rub though, India doesn't have enough Uranium on its own to keep the existing nuclear plants running (please see today's The Hindu article that 5 nuclear plants shut down due to lack of fuel). Without this deal, no imported fuel for India. No not even from Russia which is a NSG founding member.
As for depending on coal for major power source, it can be a bit dicey for the future generation with all those polluted water, and global warming from coal power plant pollution. Just ask our Chinese friends about the environmental cost of their coal fired plants. They are now going a big way for nuclear power, they even ordered several nuclear power plants from western and US companies. Everything has a price, Professor. Questions is what is the least bad option, what option you and your grandchildren can live with while also providing jobs and electricity for a billion plus population.

Dear Mr. Dutta:
I am aware that coal WILL create CO2 loading and global warming too. I have published several Papers on these. But, remember, it wil create atmospheric pollution and greenhouse gases dispersed across the GLOBE: not just India. My important observation is that our country's strategic interests cannot be compromised for the sake of energy, for which we do have alternative solutions: though, suboptimal. Even nuclear energy can be disastrous: e.g. Chernobyl. We need to go in for thorium route in the long run. And till then coal or hydro may be the solution. You yourself have agreed that our nuclear reactors are getting shut down for want of uranium. Is it not blackmail by the nuclear group including China? Self reliance wil pay in the long run. Nevertheless, I do agree that we should go in for 123 agreement provided US and the NSG agree to conditions that will not put highly objectionable conditions that will amount to compromising on our sovereignty. I appreciate your intelligent response. Prof. Natarajan.
Do we have a democracy? A party with a minority representation is controlling the strategic initiative of the country. And Congress seems to be clinging to power; these guys have no ethics any way. CPIs interest is only promoting their ideology and dictates that they receive from the thinktank in Russia/China; Russia wants to sell the low tech/high price defence equipments to India and China wants to stall development in India. They have done successfully in manufacturing sector wherein we still have the red-tappism and bureocracy and plenty of entry barriers with active cooperation from Local Lallas. Oil is soon going to be 100-125 dollar range and Our country will suffer because of the policies followed by govt.

India should devlop Thorium fule cycle for reactors. As Thorium is something they have no need for NSG or any deal.
Why stay dependent on uranium from outside ?
In future India will need Nuclear Weapons, as a anti-black mail device and to keep china checked. US/UK/Russia/China are all building New Generation Nuke Weapons Today , because they are needed to preserve Independence.
