Renegotiate and get same deal as China -US deal
by apjunkmail on Nov 07, 2007 07:07 AM  Permalink

Renegotiate to remove fissile material cut off from NSG deal for one as it is useless to talk fissile material cut off and deterent which means nuke weapons. You cannot have nuke weapons without fissile material. Not only can you not build new weapons, when Fissile Material degradation in the current weapons takes place they cannot be refreshed in future. Or else CAP AND ROLL BACK TO ZERO. Not something that is in security intrest of Indias Future. There is a template out there India can uses it the China -US deal. If not No deal at all.

Here is what India needs
by apjunkmail on Oct 29, 2007 03:34 AM  Permalink

Cap and roll back of nuke weapons are never in Indian future security interests or self respect and takes away the greatest equalizer against all kinds of black mails from China etc.. India must with time upgrade its deployed nuke weapons .A pat on the back from the west or a tooth less seat on the security council %u2013without veto power- is something that appeals to deluded fools and western direct or indirect agents.
If west wants this special relation ship so bad and it appears they do the MUST lift all technology , sanctions the applied in unjust manner without any deal.

Our Crooked Netas

Almost all major Indian political parties are displaying their true nature for everyone to see. It is revolting and disgusting to see their selfish greed for power while the country cries out for their collective leadership in this critical stage of international diplomacy. This is how the drama unfolds. Karat is ready to talk to Amar Singh the corrupt businessman. Chandrababu Naidu is ready to give up his push for economic development and reforms to get back to power. Buddhadeb who fought for US aid and investment is now silent. Thackeray is actually pro %u2013 US and fights the communists but is against the deal. Jaswanth and Vajpayee started negotiations with the US but have now dumped the deal. Communists want Congress to negotiate only with them so that they can squeeze more out of a cornered congress. They do not want a joint discussion and vote in parliament because the BJP may step in and help congress out. Congress tries to score political points from this deal and blackmails their comrades with elections instead of opening frank discussions with all parties. Communists reply by suddenly creating a new front with SJP and TDP to show they are ready for battle. Karunanidhi Laloo Yadav and Sharad Pawar shrewdly drive parties apart and then benefit by playing mediators who bringing them together. Unfortunately for us, it does not end here. How devious they all are!!! They just lust for votes and power. It is amazing that India survives despite devils like these.

Deal or No Deal

1. Our Honorable PM should understand he is a PM not the king of this country that when he signs a deal everyone accepts it.
2. Did our PM take allies/commies into confidence before signing this deal?
3. Let us do a thorough analysis of what are our pros/cons before signing this deal and if the commies have a valid point address them rather than brush it under the carpet.
4. On the other hand the commies need to understand that just for the sake of opposing US dont opposse. Think objectively if this deal will help our country and put forth any valid points of concern you have.
5. This is democracy guys. There are reasons why a PM doesnt have absolute power.
6. From My point of view lets go ahead with this deal, making nuclear bombs will not feed our hungry population and lets not go the Russia way on that.
7. While we are going ahead with this deal lets ensure our scientists get exposure to latest technologies and let them come up with inventions/innovations of their own on alternative sources of energy so that even if we walk out of the deal at a later stage we know we have an alternative which is viable and sustainable

RE:Deal or No Deal

1... It is the prerogative of the Government of the day to take policy decisions, all over the world.
2.. All the cabinet had agreed that they trust Manmohan Singh on the N-Deal. Only after this authorisation did Manmohan sign the deal. Before this deal was signed various objections to it, like reprocessing rights, Fuel supply were taken care of.
3...Commies are NOT really opposing this deal. What they are opposing is anything that India does with USA and the West. They are even objecting to outsourcing, military tie ups, and anything which threatens China, and anything which will help India become a Superpower.
4...Its only the commies who are really against the USA as they have to answer their Masters in China. It has been found out in a recent survey that max. number of Indians like USA and wants to have a good relationship with it. Iran and China on the contrary have never supported India on any thing, be it UNSC permanent membership or on Kashmir.
5.....Democracy doesnt mean that the Government has to take permission from the opposition for any policy decisions, as opposition will always oppose to anything that government does, specially in India.
6...This deal is for power generation only and this deaol will free India to use its scarce uranium stocks to build weapons.
7....This deal will take India out of Isolation and will provide our scientists and Engineers to master new technology, besides ofcourse generating thousands of jobs for Indians and giving a fillip

MMS & N-deal
by Bodh Ramdeo on Oct 24, 2007 08:12 PM  Permalink

Dr Singh has used up all his political currency and any latent sympathy the public may have had for him- had he actually put in his papers, in defence of his honor, people right and left would have rallied behind him. But like always, the corrupting politics of this fetid land, has seen to it that he chooses power ahead of honor.

Good the deal is dead
by Sameer Bhagwat on Oct 24, 2007 07:46 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Great to hear that this deal is about to be scrapped. The commies despite their 18th century backward ideology have done at least one good thing for India. By agreeing to this deal India would have to purchase expensive foreign fuel and make concessions to the US just for lifting NSG sanctions. Net result is that US just signs a paper and loses nothing but India has to purchase expensive equipment for this favor. Just look at the profit and loss equation in this:
US --> Sign the deal lift sanctions and get concessions from India
India --> Sign the deal and give concessions to the US besides paying money for N fuel.
Net result is that India gives concessions.
